A splash of colour and creativity this morning 🎨
Our residents have been enjoying Chinese New Year inspired colouring while chatting about traditions, symbols and celebrations. The festivities begin in February, and we’re enjoying learning all about the year of the horse together 🧧🐲

Over the past week or so, our lovely residents have been sharing information about themselves, and our activity coordinators have been making life stories about everyone to upload to Care Vision.
We decided to trial videoing a life story, and our Shirley agreed to be the first resident to allow us to look through her photos and record a bit about her life to share.
I hope you all enjoy watching as we did putting this together 🎥♥️

Last week, we were invited to take part in the Dementia Bus Experience—an impactful and eye-opening journey that offered insight into the challenges faced by those living with dementia, and how we can better understand, support, and empathise with them.

Gaining a deeper understanding of the people we care for is essential to delivering truly person-centred care. After the event, we invited members of our team who took part to share their reflections and learning, helping us all continue to grow and improve the care we provide.

Today we explored what life was like with Dementia. We've undergone the Virtual Dementia Tour to learn and understand what life is like for those who live with Dementia, so we can better empathise with our residents and be more reactive to their needs.

It was an incredible but humbling activity that allowed our staff to fully understand the difficulties and overwhelming sensations that a person who lives with dementia can have. We're constantly looking to learn and explore new opportunities to help us better serve those we care for.

We’ve had a fab afternoon full of sports activities and games with the guys over at Sports Cool. The residents really enjoyed doing simple chair based exercises and joining in with the games 🏏🏐
