On Friday we held our very own care awards to celebrate professional care workers week. Staff and service users nominated staff in different categories and we presented each winner with a certificate. There were smiles all round and it was lovely to see.

Last week we celebrated wytham fest. We enjoyed lots of games, food, fun and laughter and even had a visit from our friends at Ribble View - Exemplar Health Care.

Today we visited HAPPA and had a lovely time. We enjoyed walking round and petting all the horses and ponies and then finished up with a milkshake in the HAPPA cafe.

Yesterday we had a visit from the adorable Lillibet. She enjoyed plenty of cuddles and belly tickles and everyone who met her left with a smile on their face.

Yesterday at Wytham Lodge we welcomed YetiCare who came to install our Yeti and demonstrate to staff how this is used.

Staff were excited to see and use this innovative technology which aims to enhance the service user activity experience, offering many activities and apps to engage with and encouraging lots of fun as well as promoting excellent therapeutic outcomes.

YetiCare health technology promotes a meaningful life by stimulating cognitive and physical functions, social interaction, and psychological well-being. Moments of joy, achievements and cultivating a sense of unity increase the well-being of people of all ages. YetiCare enables the equality of people offering enhanced access to digital technology by utilising a big screen and clear user interface for ease of use (Yeticare.fi)

We cannot wait to start using this with our service user group at Wytham Lodge and 9 other Exemplar Homes giving them access to their own login areas, providing opportunity to obtain feedback directly from users and informing personalised plans of care. Initial feedback from our service user ambassadors was fabulous to hear, lots of excitement and positivity about its use.

What a fabulous day with the new Wytham Lodge team! Wytham Lodge will be our 54th care home opened and this team are motivated, driven and ready for the challenge.

We celebrated the completion of their three week bespoke induction training which has been intense, pushed boundaries, enhanced confidence and forged good working relationships. Above all it has equipped them with vital skills and knowledge to enable outstanding care for our service users, always striving to make every day better.

Today we celebrated all they have achieved together in these vital initial few weeks designed to develop a high performing team.
