Ready for the start of the next term but before we jump back in tomorrow take a look at what we got up before the Easter break……
Firstly we collected donations for the Down Town Community Grocery specifically sweets and treats as requested by themselves due to this not being a popular donation and everyone deserves a little treat with their shop. We popped down and the children delivered them to the lovely staff in time for the Easter break. Thank you to the wonderful people who donated every little helps and lots of sweet treats for those who access the shop 🥰.
🌺 the children enjoyed making some beautiful Mother’s Day cards and gifts for their lovely mummy’s
🎨 lots of Easter crafts
🐑 we visited the lambing shed again this year to see all the new born lambs with their mummy’s they were absolutely adorable. We talked to the children about how their mummy’s look after them and help them grow. We also saw frog spawn and explained to the children that they will grow into frogs (using pictures and videos) they were amazed !!
🔴 🔵 🟡 the children have been working hard identifying primary colours exploring them using lots of different materials
🔢 we have been working hard on counting and recognising numbers keep up the good work some of you are now counting to 10 !!
🚗 We visited our local play groups and The Little Lancashire Village which is always a huge hit for everyone even me !! What a great venue right on our doorstep.
🪏🪴 we’ve planted our pea pods and sunflowers not too sure if they survived last nights wind 🫣 but we managed to save them after storm Dave and we did have some little shoots so keep your fingers crossed for us🤞🏼
💦 we managed to get outside lots despite the yucky weather, we visited our favourite spot at the offshoots mud kitchen, been for local walks and played in the garden. Let’s pray for much nicer weather this term so we can spend even more time outside !!

So last week we planted our little beans and so far nothing significant to the eye has happened although a few have opened up slightly so I’m sure by next week we will start seeing some little roots appearing.

Our community concept is in full swing, the Explorers have been busy doing there bit around the local area, cleaning up the greenway litter picking, creating conversation around a healthy and clean environment and looking after the area where we live. The little ones have also been to visit the community Down Town shop and spoke to the lovely Amanda and Nathan who were there to help with lots of questions about how we could help support the shop. We came to the conclusion that the shop would benefit from more sweet treats so throughout the next few weeks in the lead up to Easter we will be collecting ‘treats’ such as crisps, chocolate, sweets, cakes and biscuits so we can help make everyone’s shop a little more enjoyable because who doesn’t enjoy a treat every now and then !! If anyone wants to get involved and would like to donate any treats please get in touch I’m more than happy to collect 🥰
The children have been talking about who they live with, using the playdough to create our families and pets this was a beautiful way to get the children talking and sharing who our families are.

The little ones also visited a very friendly family run cafe supporting local businesses, learning to sit nicely at the table and the best part enjoying a lovely healthy fruity snack the children were a pleasure as always 💕 !!

I really need to hire someone to keep my page updated !! Too busy having fun !!

Lots to back date but for now a little peek at what we are up to this term…….. we are focusing on Community exploring the different ways we can help our community, what they do for us and what it’s like to be a part of our own 💕. Running alongside Community is our topic on Life and this week we’ve kick started it with a very visual experiment the little ones have really enjoyed taking part in, everyone has planted their own beans ready to watch them grow up the window in their special little bags. We’ll check back in a week’s time and see how our little beans are coming along.

We’ve also made a start on our colour wall this weeks colour is blue and what better way to get creative with colour than paint rolling and of course hand printing 😍

Time for another catch up post the Little Explorers have unfortunately had to have the majority of this week off due to illness in the home however they’ve been busy previous weeks and I can’t believe looking back at just how much we got up to……….

🍂 we made bird feeders a great sensory/messy activity and the children really got stuck in with this.
🍂 visited our usual Monday play group the children love the outdoor space here and rightly so it’s brilliant !!
🍂 we’ve been for more autumn walks and collected items to make an autumn star we looked at how all the leaves are changing colour and how lots of them are falling to the ground we saw some squirrels gathering acorns and eating monkey nuts 😍 we even managed to watch the firefighters doing a bit of training 🧑‍🚒👨‍🚒
🍂 we’ve been to feed the ducks 🦆 they do enjoy a little bag of oats every now and then and I spoke to the children about how we shouldn’t feed them bread ❌ 🍞
🍂 we’ve made ‘funny faces’ with autumn items we’ve collected over the last few weeks this got lots of giggles 🤭
🍂 we’ve done lots more autumn inspired art and my new Little Explorers have really enjoyed exploring the autumn sensory table it’s taken a little encouragement as with all things new but it’s been lovely watching them grow in confidence 💕
🍂 we’ve also been revisiting colour and have done lots of activities to encourage language and recognition most of the children can name at least 1 colour consistently with green and yellow being firm favourites !!
🍂 we’ve visited offshoots and played in the mud kitchen there were lots of apples there this time and the children enjoyed transporting them in the wheelbarrows and mixing them in the pans and buckets making meals for everyone
🍂 I took the children over to a lovely sensory room. With another opportunity to explore colour, sounds, lights and music 🎶 we built little archways to crawl under and had lots of fun with the ball pit
🍂 we also spent a morning at the play centre a great place to let off some steam and get some exercise in with lots of opportunities to climb, slide, kick, chase a ball and build towers we finished off with a visit to the cafe for lunch !!

I’d like to give a mention to my new little ones who have been busy settling in over the last few weeks both parents and children have been amazing adjusting to new routines and new journeys outside of their home comforts I’m also incredibly proud of my Explorers for helping them settle you are all equally amazing 💕 xx

Autumn crafts today was full of experiments, my Little Explorer found different ways to make paint marks on the paper from rolling the pine cones to dropping them and watching the paint splatter 🥰, onto scissor skills and lots of conversations about different cultures inspired by Hispanic Heritage month “that’s a big hat” aka sombrero, the people in the pictures talk in a different language called Spanish, their words sound different to ours so we say hello and Spanish people say hola. We also manage to add a touch of numeracy fun these little people amaze me 😍

We’ve been busy today, the children have made autumn wreaths, explored the sensory bottles and experimented with autumn colours using paint…….. we’ve also got a new play kitchen which the little ones have really enjoyed playing with I’ve had lots of cups of coffee 🥰 xx

The ‘Little Explorers’ have had a lovely football themed day celebrating Burnley FC’s recent promotion, the children loved showing off their football skills with the very friendly BFC staff and we had fun finding all our favourite players around the town centre. The children even managed to come home with one of the signed squad photos each. Thank you Burnley Football Club and your lovely staff you made 2 Little Explorers very happy 💕⚽️

Easter wrap up……. Lots of adventures and getting creative, I don’t often get chance to take pictures of crafts as you can imagine under 3’s and paint doesn’t always go to plan 🙃🤣 but we have fun and get messy and that’s what it’s all about 💕.

We had the pleasure of my youngest also known as my little PA and resource tester, joining us over the half term she’s absolutely brilliant with the little ones 💕

Whistle stop tour of our jam packed adventures:-
Bolton Abbey for the bunny trail.. a visit to Thornton Hall farm brilliant day out, went to see the newborn lambs in the lambing tent at Hurstwood, chocolate egg hunts around offshoots at Towneley, a bit of pond dipping for tadpoles and lots lots more….. they don’t call us the Little Explorers for nothing……
