Flu Clinics - the booking system will open on Monday 1st September.
Flu clinics will start in October!

If you are in one of the eligible groups of patients below, and we have your mobile number or email , you will receive a text or email to book your space.

If you are also eligible for a Covid vaccine you may be offered this within your flu vaccination appointment (subject to availability). You can have your covid vaccination on a separate date if you prefer.

National Guidance for eligibility is as follows:

Flu Eligibility - from 1 September 2025:
• Pregnant women.
• All children aged 2 or 3 years on 31 August 2025.
• Primary school aged children (from Reception to Year 6).
• Secondary school aged children (from Year 7 to Year 11).
• All children in clinical risk groups aged from 6 months to less than 18 years

Flu Eligibility from 1st October 2025:
• Those aged 65 years and over.
• Those aged 18 years to under 65 years in clinical risk groups (as defined by the Green Book, Influenza chapter 19 ).
• Those in long-stay residential care homes.
• Carers in receipt of carer’s allowance, or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person.
• Close contacts of immunocompromised individuals.
• Frontline workers in a social care setting without an employer led occupational health scheme including those working for a registered residential care or nursing home, registered domiciliary care providers, voluntary managed hospice providers and those that are employed by those who receive direct payments (personal budgets) or Personal Health budgets, such as Personal Assistants.

Covid Eligibility 2025

• People aged 75 years and over.
• People aged 18 years to under 75 years in clinical risk groups who.
• People in long-stay residential care homes.
• Carers in receipt of carers allowance or those who are the main carer of an elderly or disabled person.

We kindly ask that patients attend the surgery for their vaccinations.
Vaccines must be ordered and planned up to a year in advance, with only limited options for returns. Unfortunately, any unused doses must be paid for by the practice and are then destroyed.
Your attendance helps us reduce waste and manage resources more effectively, if you cannot attend your appointment please cancel your appointment via your txt reminder.

A quick reminder that samples need to be handed in before 3:30pm- This is to ensure they can go with the courier that day.
Please hand all samples in to the reception team so they can check these in.

Travel

Remember if you’re going away this year, particularly around the August Bank Holiday, it’s important to ensure you’ve got enough of your medications to last for your entire trip. Please allow 7 days when you order your prescription.

Why not use your time away this summer to have a social media break? Evidence suggests that switching off for a period can have a huge positive impact on your mental health. A digital detox can help you to be more present, to focus more on those around you, and it reduces stress and anxiety. Give it a try!

Antibiotics

Taking antibiotics when you don’t need them puts both you and others at risk. Resistance to antibiotics is a growing concern, and it’s important that we control usage to keep them working for when they’re really needed. In some cases, you may not need an antibiotic so ensure you trust your Doctor, Nurse or Pharmacist’s advice as to when they’re required. Take antibiotics as directed and never save them for later use or share them with others.

Water safety

When temperatures rise, water accidents are more likely to occur, with nearly half of drownings happening between May and August. If you’re thinking about swimming, always follow the Water Safety Code.
