Being a mum doesn’t come with a manual… and it certainly doesn’t get easier just because they grow up.
If anything, it shifts.
Especially when there’s a big age gap.
Two adults, living their own lives, a couple of hours apart… each walking their own path, making their own choices, carrying that same stubborn streak I know all too well.
Funny how life does that.
You start to notice the patterns. The echoes. The way history quietly repeats itself, just with different faces and timelines.
And here’s what’s been landing for me…
The younger one stepping into more responsibility sooner. The older one holding their ground in their own way.And me, somewhere in the middle, recognising bits of myself in both.
Motherhood doesn’t stop.It evolves.
It asks you to let go… while still being there. To trust… even when you want to step in. To watch… without trying to rewrite their story.
It’s not always easy.
But it is real. And it is ours.
