Happy Friday ✨

For many of us, it’s the end of the working week — a gentle reminder to slow down, exhale, and begin to unwind.

It’s been a long, cold, wet and grey winter. The darker mornings and evenings can take their toll, so as we head into the weekend, give yourself permission to recharge your batteries.

Make time for you.
Connect with friends and family.
Do something you genuinely enjoy.
Step outside if you can.
Pause and remember what is good in your life — even the small things.

Rest isn’t a luxury, it’s essential. You deserve moments of warmth, connection and light — especially after a season that’s felt heavy.

Here’s to a weekend of resetting and refuelling 🤍

✨ What Is an Initial Consultation? ✨

An initial consultation is a 45-minute online appointment designed to explore how I can best support you.

During this session, I’ll gather some background information to understand what you’d like help with and what’s been going on for you. This gives us a clear picture of your goals and the changes you want to make.

I’ll also explain how hypnotherapy works and how everything I do is grounded in neuroscience. Understanding the “why” behind the process is important — you’ll know exactly how and why the techniques work.

Following our consultation, you’ll receive a bespoke treatment plan tailored specifically to you and your goals.

If you’re curious about how hypnotherapy could help, or you’d simply like to find out more, feel free to get in touch — I’d love to hear from you. 🤍

Following the advice I give to my clients….
Positive actions - when it’s wet and windy and the past few days have been challenging get out in nature and try and be present in the moment. This is not EASY and will not solve all the challenges in life but it will clear your mind. It will help your prefrontal cortex to engage and enable you to be more rational. Remember in all the chaos take a little time for you 🩷

Feeling stressed, overwhelmed, suffering with anxiety, PTSD, depression?

Your brain is like a bucket. 🪣

Throughout the day it fills up…
With the events of the day.
With past trauma.
With constant overthinking.
With negatively forecasting the future.

When your bucket gets too full, it doesn’t just sit there quietly.
It spills over.

And that overflow can look like stress, anxiety, low mood, irritability, poor sleep, feeling stuck or completely overwhelmed.

The good news? You don’t have to carry a full bucket all the time.

✨ Hypnotherapy can help you manage this.
It works by calming the mind, reducing the stress response, and helping your brain process and organise those thoughts more effectively — so your bucket doesn’t keep overflowing.

You deserve to feel lighter.
You deserve space in your mind.

Change can feel scary.
It can feel overwhelming.
Sometimes even the thought of doing something differently in your life can make your mind race.

But here’s the truth: 🌿
Growth lives on the other side of change.

If you’re thinking about making a change — whether it’s your confidence, career, habits, mindset, or overall wellbeing — you don’t have to figure it out alone.

✨ Solution Focused Hypnotherapy can help.

Instead of digging into the past, this approach gently guides you toward where you want to be.

🧠 It calms the mind – reducing stress and quieting the mental noise that keeps you stuck.
🎯 It enables clear goal setting – helping you focus on what you want, not what you fear.
🌅 It creates clarity and direction – so you can move forward feeling positive, motivated, and in control.

Change doesn’t have to feel chaotic.
With the right support, it can feel empowering.

If you’re ready to take that first step toward the life you want, this could be the beginning. 💫

Your body works hard all week.
Your mind works even harder.

The weekend isn’t just a break from work — it’s a reset button. 🔄
Time to slow down, breathe, rest your muscles, and give your thoughts some space to settle.

When you use the weekend to truly relax, you’re not being lazy — you’re refueling.
You come back stronger, clearer, more creative, and more balanced.

So unplug a little. Sleep in. Move gently. Do something that brings you joy.
Your body and mind will thank you on Monday. ✨

Intrusive thoughts can be loud.
They interrupt. They repeat. They convince us they’re facts — even when they’re not.

The mind has a powerful voice, and sometimes it speaks in fear, doubt, or worst-case scenarios. That doesn’t mean those thoughts define you. It means your nervous system is trying (awkwardly) to protect you.

The good news?
You don’t have to silence your thoughts overnight to feel better.

Small steps matter:
• noticing the thought instead of fighting it
• questioning whether it’s true or just loud
• gently choosing a different response
• redirecting your focus, one moment at a time

Each small shift creates space.
Each pause builds clarity.
And over time, that inner noise loses its grip.

Mental well-being isn’t about having a quiet mind —
it’s about learning how to relate to your thoughts with awareness and compassion 🤍

Be patient with yourself. Change doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

🌈 Children’s Mental Health Week 2026
🗓️ 9–15 February
🎨 Theme: “This Is My Place”

“This Is My Place” is all about helping children and young people discover where—and with whom—they feel they truly belong. Everyone deserves a space where they feel safe, valued, and accepted for who they are. For some, that “place” might be home, school, a sports team, a creative group, or simply being with friends who make them feel seen and supported.

💚 When children feel they have a place in the world, it strengthens their sense of identity, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.

Here are 4 key ways parents can support their child’s mental health this week (and every week):

🌱 Listen without judgment — Give your child time and space to express themselves. Sometimes, being heard is the best comfort you can give.
💬 Talk about feelings openly — Model emotional awareness by sharing how you cope with your own ups and downs.
🤝 Encourage connection — Help them build friendships and join activities that make them feel part of something positive.
💤 Prioritize balance — Support regular routines, enough rest, and downtime for play—these are vital to mental health.

💬 Let’s celebrate every child finding their place—where they feel safe, confident, and truly themselves. 💛

📚 Mocks are over — now it’s the final run-up to GCSEs and A levels.

For many teenagers, this period can feel intense. Expectations rise, pressure builds, and worries about results can creep in — often showing up as stress, anxiety, disrupted sleep, and low mood.

You might notice your teenager:
• Struggling to switch off at night
• Feeling irritable or overwhelmed
• Losing confidence or motivation
• Experiencing racing thoughts or panic

🧠 What’s happening in the brain?
Under exam stress, the brain’s threat system stays on high alert. This increases cortisol (the stress hormone), making it harder to concentrate, sleep well, or feel calm — even when revision is going well.

🌿 How solution focused hypnotherapy can help
Solution focused hypnotherapy works with both the mind and the brain, using insights from neuroscience to:
• Calm the nervous system
• Reduce anxiety and exam-related stress
• Improve sleep and emotional regulation
• Build confidence, focus, and resilience

Rather than revisiting past difficulties, this approach helps teenagers understand how their brain works under stress — and teaches practical tools to help them feel more in control during this crucial period.

✨ Support during exams isn’t a weakness — it’s a skill.
Helping your teenager feel calmer, more confident, and better rested can make a real difference in how they approach exams and beyond.

Kate at Dove Hypnotherapy offers supportive, evidence-based hypnotherapy to help young people navigate exam pressure with greater ease.
