Cycle to Work Day.

I know we're a day late to the party but, yesterday the 7th August was Cycle to work day.
Cycle to Work Day is a nationwide celebration of commuting by bicycle, promoting the health benefits, sustainability, and environmental advantages of two-wheeled travel. This annual initiative encourages more people to swap four wheels for two, helping to ease congestion on public transport, lower carbon emissions, and support both mental and physical wellbeing.

This week, The Natural Healthcare Centre are overjoyed to be celebrating 10 years at 9 Main Street in Stapenhill, Burton on Trent and a total of 26 years trading all together. Anson Court was our first home, then Bridge Street, and now Main Street. Where has all that time gone!

Introducing the lovely Paul Fleming, Paul has been with us at The Natural Healthcare Centre around a year now and is busy helping so many people with pain management, back/neck pain relief, soft tissue damage and many other muscular skeletal injuries.
Paul is a top quality Sports and Rehabilitation Therapist with experience of all movement related muscular skeletal injuries and conditions. From top sport and athletic performers to back pain from gardening, housework, DIY or lifting, Paul will assess and treat effectively, then design a bespoke rehabilitation program with exercises.
He is available on Tuesday mornings 8am-12pm, Thursday evenings 5-9pm and Saturday afternoon 3pm - 7pm.

My experience with Andrea Bennett,
Health Kinesiology and Touch for Health practitioner.

I've heard so many good accounts of people's experiences with Kinesiology over the years and was incredibly curious about trying it, with our new practitioner Andrea at The Natural Healthcare Centre.

Andrea made me feel most welcome into the room, the atmosphere was very relaxed and calm. I had already filled a health form in before our session so we both discussed this further in the appointment. After discussing health issues and some emotional aspects to my life we moved onto Touch for Health.

Andrea advised me on the Touch for Health daily balance routine, movements to enable me to balance the energy throughout my body and mind. We both went through 5 different key areas to work on. I wasn't expecting this kind of gentle movement in the session and certainly wasn't expecting to experience the positive results I felt. Andrea suggested I do these very simple, gentle movements and touch for heath daily to encourage the balance the mind and body together.

After this refreshingly different approach to health we moved onto Kinesiology and the process where the practitioner assesses the muscle reflex to read heath issues or stagnation present in the body, i was amazed with how much information Andrea obtained and read from me and how accurate she could intreprate from simply flexing my arm to determine which areas within the body to work on.
One of the main areas we worked on was my grief of losing both parents in a short space of time and not feeling very positive about the future, i know this is quite a personal thing to talk about but it does need highlighting that this practice can help tremendously with emotional disharmony. Andrea encouraged me to use a mantra of being more mindful of a positive future. I repeated this a few times.

After my session with Andrea i actually felt a calm relief, somehow felt lifted.
And now after a few days after the session i can honestly say, i'm definitely feeling more positive about the future life.

I would recommend trying Touch for Health and Kinesiology.

SUN AWARENESS WEEK 12th-18th May 2025

We all like to spend time in sunny warm weather from time to time but its vital to be aware of the dangers around spending too much time in the sun especially if you have to work in it or are on holiday.

This initiative aims to highlight the risks associated with excessive sun exposure and the importance of protecting the skin from dangerous UV rays. Promoting sun safety and preventing skin cancers and lesions.

If you're going to be outside for more than 30 minutes, follow these important guidelines-

•Don't spend a lot of time in the sun between 11am and 3pm, seek shade if possible
•Make sure you use a suncream or lotion of at least 30 SPF, 4 star UVA protection
•Re-apply sunscreen protection after swimming or sweating
•Protect your eyes with sunglasses(sunglasses which block UVA and UVB rays)
•Cover up with comfortable light clothing
•Take extra care with children
• Wear a broad brimmed hat

Enjoy the sunshine but remember be more aware! :-)

Mental Health Awareness Week 12th - 18th May 2025.

The Mental Health Awareness week has been running since 2001 and was set up by the Mental Health Foundation. They have a 'theme' set every year and 2025 is all about 'Community'.

To quote from the Mental Health Uk site:-
