Fruity Friday -
❤️ Not all fruits are equal.
❤️ Some impact your blood sugars quickly (high GI), some less so (low GI), some are great for hydration.
❤️ Eating fruit as part of a meal or with protein/good fats is the best way.
❤️ Top '5' - berries, citrus fruit, peaches/plums, melon & green skinned apples/pears

Thirsty Thursday -
❤️ Drink water first & foremost.
❤️ Limit high sugar & caffeine drinks.
❤️ Remember fruit juice & smoothies can still be high in sugar, adding veg can help.
❤️ Go easy on the alcohol, drink water in between & make drinks 'long' if you can.

Be aware Wednesday -
❤️ Do you recognise & can you pronounce all ingredients in the list?
❤️ Sugar and additives come in many forms, be aware, make informed choices & don't be fooled by them.
❤️ Does food last a lot longer than you'd expect? Why is this? Preservatives?

It's not always easy to spot sugar on ingredients lists, because it can come under lots of different names. Our infographic shows 50 names for sugar

Charlotte & Hayley's charity walk update.....

We have deferred our places until next year!

Charlotte has recently had a new health diagnosis, which as many of you know can take a while to get your head around, to adopt new ways and to settle into a new normal.

The stresses and strains of training for such an event are not what's needed right now and without adequate training it would be unsafe for us to participate, so we made the decision to defer.

Her positivity throughout all of this has been inspirational and her determination and motivation to come back better than before is clear - watch this space!

Who knows, we may even recruit and become a bigger challenge team by next year too!

To those who have already donated, your monies will be carried forward to kick-start our fundraising for the new event (to be confirmed early next year) and will still be utilised to enhance our local cardiac rehab service.

"Goals will be achieved with patience, persistence, planning & positive action!"
