First workout in a week as I had a Fibro flare and needed to work on getting steps back to normal first. Had a week focusing on steps, now I'm bleeding workouts back in slowly. Starting with a half of a normal home banded tabata.

Just incase anyone here is the same, never look at what everyone else is doing. Do what's right for you and your body. Don't ever feel like you have to keep up because you don't.

This is about YOU feeling the best that YOU can, not about anyone else and what they can and can't do.

My life with chronic illnesses may look different to other people's but it in no way means I can't strive to feel the best I ever have.

Really enjoying the challenges on Garmin. For a long time I couldn’t understand the point of challenges and earning badges, but I’ve realised that’s because I never allowed myself to celebrate the small wins, never feeling as though I’d done enough to earn the win as someone, somewhere was always doing more, achieving bigger and better things. But I’ve realised that constant comparisons lead no where, at least for me.
Here’s to the next badge! A x

What am I going to do today?

It’s a stunning day but perimenopause is kicking my ass on the energy, mood and aching front, despite HRT.

It’s unbelievably frustrating to feel this way despite meds, good nutrition, sleeping well etc. But, I also know that ploughing on regardless isn’t going to help, more sleep isn’t going to help, so what will?

Truthfully I’m not sure, but I’m going to start with a nice coffee, a delicious breakfast and a gentle walk in the sunshine, and take it from there. Sadly not at the seaside but these photos are from last weekend and are lovely to look back on.

Hope you all have wonderful Sunday’s A xx

The struggle has been real lately to balance between what my body needs and what my brain needs.

I got to the point where body very much needed a rest. I've been doing loads lately (all fun stuff) while still managing to keep up my exercise and movement and it got to a point the other day when body quietly said, no more please.

So I gave her a rest for a good few days. Dropped my steps to my minimal, ate well and slept a f**kton.

But then brain decided she was really, really sad. I cried a lot, I had to fight the urge just to go to bed and stay there. Some of the time, I didn't win that fight and I did just go to bed and cry.

It's been tough, really, really tough.

I couldn't just go and workout and re balance my head. I had to use other tools: outside time, colouring, making myself go out and see people and having extra sleep.

This morning I did a small leg workout. The balance had tipped and body felt much more able to handle a little workout and brain still needed help.

So, I went and did a workout. I dropped my sets from 3 to 2 which was enough movement to feel accomplished and help my brain but not too much so body can still be recovering.

Balance is fu***ng hard but it can be done.
