Sometimes the biggest win in therapy isn’t a dramatic moment.

It’s:
🌱 a client saying “no” without apologising
🌱 a quiet confidence creeping in
🌱 applying for a dream job after years of doubt
🌱 deleting the ex’s number without a second thought
🌱 putting their phone on “Do Not Disturb” to recharge
🌱 un-following someone who makes them feel bad
🌱 celebrating a win instead of minimising it
🌱 saying “I need some time to think” instead of making a decision on the spot

Those little shifts are everything. 🤎

Autumn always feels like a season of change — it is slower, softer and you have more time to think about the goals you want to hit before the new year. The season of letting go and new beginnings. 🍂

There’s always that one guy.

You know — the one who, from the very first episode, got weirdly defensive the second someone didn’t say “I’m obsessed with you, babe.” and says she's 50/50. Alarm bells ringing 🔔

Because that wasn’t about confidence — that was about control disguised as charm.

📕 Let’s talk DARVO:
Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim & Offender.
A manipulation tactic that flips accountability on its head.

→ “That’s not what happened.”
→ “You’re making me feel like the bad guy.”
→ “Wow, I guess I just won’t say anything anymore.”

See it now? 😔❤️

When someone reacts badly to your uncertainty — that’s a red flag.
🚩 You’re allowed to explore your feelings.
🚩 You don’t owe anyone immediate validation.
🚩 Healthy people don’t guilt you for not being “all in” straight away.

In therapy, we unpack how these dynamics wear people down over time.
It’s subtle, but it’s real — and it often starts just like this. ❤️

For my chronic illness community and clients ❤️

Let me put it like this...

I once did 4 days at Benicàssim Festival — 40° heat, cheap beer, no sleep, dancing ‘til sunrise. 🌅🍻
And honestly? That still didn’t wipe me out like life with a chronic illness does.

Fatigue now hits me like I’ve been on a bender…
after sending two emails.
Or brushing my hair.
Or simply being. 😴

This isn’t just tired.
It’s “I need to lie down or cry” kind of tired.
And it doesn’t always make sense to others —
but I see YOU! 🎗️💝

As a counsellor living with chronic illness, I get how heavy the invisible stuff can feel..
You’re not lazy. You’re carrying more than people realise.
And you don’t have to do it alone here. 🪇💐🤍

This one’s for my girls who like to chase the chaos 💅✨

Me at 21?
I would’ve been head over heels for Jeremiah ❤️😍— the charm, the tan, the flirty chaos, the "let’s just see what happens" energy.
Golden retriever in the streets, heartbreak in the group chat 😩

But now?
After therapy? After life experience? Mid 30s?
It’s giving Conrad.
Emotionally intelligent. Bit broody. Actually communicates when it counts. Shows up. Grows up.
The slow burn that feels safe. End game. 🥰💕

Healing doesn’t mean you stop loving the butterflies — it just means you stop calling anxiety and lust chemistry 💛

P.S. I still fancy Jeremiah the most but my therapist, older millennial heart knows he’s the kind of man who’d forget your birthday and then cry about it. And we are not about that!🫣⛳

🌀 "My head’s gone."
Translation in therapy ✨: I’m overwhelmed and stuck in a spiral.
You’re not crazy — your nervous system just doesn’t feel safe.

I haven’t even tried this sandwich yet, but I just know it’s not for me.
Sweet bread and cold strawberries?? Ergh!
And I am a foodie but NO THANKS. 👎

And guess what?
That’s how some people feel about therapy.
They haven’t tried it yet, but something about it feels off. Not for them. Doesn’t mix. 🙅‍♀️

But here’s the thing:
Just like sandwiches, not all therapy styles are the same.
Sometimes it’s not that therapy isn’t for you — it’s just that you haven’t found the right flavour yet. 🥰

Sometimes we have a bad experience and think "counselling didn't work for me" - it is all different, we as therapists are all different, you as a client will want different things.

I always offer a free 20 minute assessment call so you get to know me a bit more and how I work to make sure I'm the right fit for you too!

And if we ever get half way through sessions and something isn't working and I'm not your sandwich 😉? It is ABSOLUTELY OK and a good counsellor will never take this personally. 🫶☀️

Today’s a big one.🏥🥼
Hospital appointment day — new medication discussions, new decisions, new hopes.❤️

Living with a chronic illness like MS isn’t linear. There are relapses, remissions, fatigue that nobody sees, and decisions that feel bigger than your body can sometimes carry. But there’s also resilience. Quiet, fierce, often unnoticed — with those living with a chronic illness.

I have a large amount of wonderful clients who are living with chronic illnesses. 🌻

As a counsellor who lives this too, I just want to remind you:
You’re not too much.❤️
You’re not imagining it.❤️
You’re not weak for needing rest, change, or support.❤️

Space is a safe space - all those fears with chronic illness - forgetting your words, needing a toilet close by, tremors, shakes, needing shorter sessions sometimes, needing longer to explain things. I have got you 🫶 You don't need to have to explain the fear, the fatigue, the worry about being understood because I get it too.

And if you’re also facing a hospital corridor this week, another round of physio, another blood test, another doctors appointment — I see you. You’ve got this 💐🌻🌞💐

An FYI in this UK heatwave.. my office/therapy room has AIR CON 😜🥶❄️

Cooler than:
❄️Your ex's heart
❄️The "Okay" message you get back when you pour your heart out in a long text
❄️The passive aggressive "as per my last email"
❄️The "you up?" Text left on read
❄️The stare you give when someone says "but you don't look sick" (my chronically iconic clients this one's for you!🫶)

In all seriousness - it is pretty cool in here for any of my clients wanting face to face sessions this summer ☀️

In this room you can cry, vent, spiral, laugh and let out all the emotions in the cold comfort 🫶🌻
