“Chiropractic is just cracking backs” = MYTH

In the UK, chiropractic is a regulated profession and chiropractors provide patients with a whole wealth of treatments, spinal adjustment being just one.

There’s no one fit approach and every patient’s plan is treated individually – many will never hear the crack or popping sounds. The crack or popping sound that’s produced from a spinal manipulation comes from a change of pressure occurring within joints. It’s generated by something called a cavitation.

“Chiropractors are massage therapists with a different name” = MYTH

Chiropractors are extensively trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, joints, and muscles), as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and general health.

Qualified individuals in this industry are working as fully regulated healthcare professionals with at least four years of training. BCA members also take this a step further. New members are provisional until they take part in a post-registration training course with the Royal College of Chiropractors.

To all our lovely patients - We will be closed on Good Friday 7th April and Easter monday 10th April. We will however be open on Easter Saturday morning (8th April) and all will be back to normal on Tuesday 11th April;.
Have a lovely Easter and be careful if you are out in the garden in the fine weather they are promising us!

The Bury St Edmunds Chiropractic Clinic will be closed on Monday 19th September 2022 to mark the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II and will allow both Staff and patients to show their respects if they so wish to do so. we will be rearranging all the prebooked appointments on that day. Thank you.

Fiona has now retruned from the beautiful city of Tampere in Finland, accompanying the Great British and Northern Ireland team to the World Masters Athletic Championships. She had a great time treating our athletes who won 25 gold medals, 12 silver and 15 bronze and ended up third in the medal table. congratulations to all who took part and also the amazing team of therapists, Nicky Nicol, Charlotte Newman (her first International event) and Meriel Davis.
Finland is a beautiful place full of lakes and trees with charming and friendly people. A pleasure to visit and recommended.

Good News,
Face-mask requirements in England have now been changed.
It is no longer a legal requirement to wear a facemask in a healthcare setting, however the Bury St Edmunds Chiropractic Clinic has your best interests at heart. The chiropractors will continue to wear PPE and we would ask that any patient who is at greater risk of potential infection continue to wear a face mask for their treatment.
This includes but is not limited to:
the over 70’s,
those receiving cancer treatment,
those with COPD,
those who are immuno-suppressed or a weakened immune system
(eg. Long term Steroid treatment)
and the Unvaccinated.

The Covid 19 regulations have relaxed for all of us but in healthcare ther PPE regulations are still in full force. please be aware that we repecfully ask that masks are still worn in the clinic (unless medically exempt) and that social distancing is practiced. We continue to risk assess all protocols and look after both your health and the health of our staff but are running a full clinic. Thank you
