I'm Kevin Smith the Training Manager and Trainer for ICare .

I have a vast amount of training experience in my previous roles in the armed forces and emergency services and NHS and I joined the I Care 8 years ago after working 22 years in the NHS in various roles predominately training.

My role involves ensuring staff are trained to industry standards on induction and refreshers in both theory and practical to meet industry and contract standards.

I have various training qualifications and in various subjects and very proud to be a qualified Level 3 Medication trainer and a ROSPA Level 4 advanced Moving and Handling trainer and more recently qualified as a Level 4 Single Handed Care Moving and Handling Trainer

This enables me to train staff to high standards in terms of safety and moving service users with Dignity.

I love working for ICare and what attracted to me was the passion behind training staff and the importance of the quality care we deliver to our clients and also the professionalism of managers and all staff in their respective roles.

I believe if I can give any new starter or current staff the skills to do their role confident then I have achieved my aims and ICare’s

I love travelling to different sites country wide to train current staff and welcoming new staff onboard at Inductions.

I love to see staff develop their confidence and Skills in the roles and reach their full potential.

I love training and my sessions are always welcoming and I make sure they have a positive experience and most of all learn something new.
