AS ANIMAL PROFESSIONALS WE STAND WITH DEFRA: LICENSING IS NEEDED FOR THE INDUSTRY TO ENSURE CONSISTENT ANIMAL WELFARE STANDARDS
Change is afoot and it’s time to have your say.
I have collaborated with 19 incredible animal professionals, all from different areas of the industry, who have a shared goal. To improve animal welfare standards.
What are we speaking up for?
⚡️ Protection of our Veterinary Nurses titles, currently anyone can call themself a veterinary nurse
⚡️ Licensing across the industry to safeguard the public and their animals from unqualified people. This includes MSK practitioners, trainers and behaviourists. Again none of these titles are protected.
Every single one of us has dedicated their life to provide, ethical, qualified and insured support for animals. We welcome licensing, simply because we are tired of animal welfare being jeopardised by poor practice and no consequence.
The Veterinary Surgeons Act Reform is being headed up by DEFRA, a government body who recognise the flaws in current legislation. The best part is, they want YOU to have your say in shaping this legislation. This reform is well over due, but I believe every voice needs to be heard and now is your chance.
