One of the great things about training is meeting all the lovely staff who support people with learning disabilities. Todays Signalong workshop was online as the staff work Potens-UK Apple Tree House in Dorset. Here's a screenshot of them learning the sign for rabbit.

Yesterday I asked staff from Persona Care and Support and Outreach Community & Residential Services what 'rewards' they got from their role when supporting people with additional communication needs.. see the image below for their replies. What a lovely bunch! Enjoyed the 4th Intensive Interaction course very much!

Part of the last day involves staff creating communication aids to experience using themselves. The staff produced some amazing examples and learned a great deal about the importance of supporting the young people in using their aids.
