That's right, we're talking about cake again!

Grundy Hub enjoyed scones with all the trimmings to celebrate Cream Tea Day and we all know cake tastes better when it's shared.

Are you over 50 and looking for opportunities to meet new people in a welcoming, supportive atmosphere?

Why not take a look at what Grundy Hub Get Social has to offer - you can arrange a free taster session too https://personasupport.org/grundy-hub

Looking for a flexible, rewarding career?
Shared Lives is a unique way to support adults in Bury and we're looking for long term and short stay (sometimes called respite) carers.

You don't need any care experience and our supportive team will be there for you from your application to every part of your placement.

Here is what some of our current and past carers say about Shared Lives:

‘The bonds and relationships that develop are truly meaningful and special. Being part of a family, community or even just having someone to talk to can be such an important aspect of people’s happiness.’ Lois

‘You can be yourself and authentically share your life with someone;
the good and the bad which is how real life is. This can be an invaluable experience to people and help them grow and learn.’ Mel

‘I am making a difference in his life which is very rewarding and has given me a sense of financial freedom too.’ Carol

‘She feels like part of the family and it’s as if she has always been there.’
Joyce

'It's been interesting learning about his life and what he does, he has taught us some new things too.' Lee

People we support at Ramsbottom Centre have made these colorful busy boards. Not only did they enjoy creating them, but now they can enjoy a unique, personalised sensory experience whenever they like, as the boards are really portable too!

alt text: 2 photos of people's hands using busy boards. The boards are pieces of thick card which have had various things stuck to them: cotton wool balls, colourful pipe cleaners, strings of multicoloured, smooth, plastic beads, lengths of satin ribbon in different colours and a mesh of twine.

As our Moorside Ageing in Place Pathfinder comes to an end, we've been reflecting on what an amazing 3 years we've had.

Earlier this month we held a celebration at The Green Café with the people who helped us along our journey: thanks again to you the residents of Moorside, our volunteers, Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Bury Council.
We handed out booklets at the event that showcase the changes we've made in Moorside which you can also see on our blog page.

We'll be expanding the project to more areas of Bury - want to get involved? Find out how and read more in Ste's final blog: https://tinyurl.com/AiPUpdates

Thank you to Jenny for this compliment to our team at Elmhurst Short Stay:

I just wanted to say thank you for the care and compassion you all showed both Mum and myself. You made her last days so loved and for that I cannot thank you all enough for. Your support and kindness will stay with me forever Jenny

Who doesn't love chocolate?
We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate chocolate day than by sampling as much as we could at Grundy Hub Get Social!

Whether you want to get involved in the activities and outings on offer or just have a quiet chat or a read in the corner, Grundy Hub Get Social is a welcoming place to meet new people. We also provide specialist dementia support and we have a supported bathing service that you can access.

Refer yourself or a loved one, or contact us for more details. You can even come for a free taster session. https://www.personasupport.org/our-services/grundy-hub/

PS We'd like to be clear that we don't endorse any particular chocolate brand. All chocolate is equally delicious.

Our Story

We support people to #livetheirbestlife. Persona was created in October 2015. The services which make up Persona were previously delivered in-house at Bury Council. We are proud to have a long track record as quality in-house service but welcome the opportunity to take forward a new organisation with the ability to do things differently. We provide a range of different support options designed to be flexible to meet the diverse needs of the community. We categorise these as Days, Stays and Lives.
