When we shared our Valentine's Day Signalong session with you, you said:

Well done Bolton Road. You smashed Valentine’s celebrations ❤️

Love it! Always having fun, no wonder my boy loves coming!

Thank you so much for sharing these compliments - it means a lot to us when you tell us we're getting it right and your comments are always shared with the team.

When you're looking for information about support for you or someone you care about, it's important that you can access and use what you find, no matter what you need to make our website work for you.

This is why we use a Recite Me toolbar which has:
- a screen mask to help you focus
- a screen reader that read aloud in over 65 different languages
- control options for the speed that your text is read aloud
- text font, colour, sizing and spacing customisation to make each page perfect for you
- a dictionary, thesaurus and spell-checker to make sense of any jargon we haven't explained

During February, 89 different people used the toolbar to look at 479 pages on our website.

Because we want to be certain that accessibility is never a factor in your care and support decisions, we'll keep making sure that anyone who needs to can get what they need, exactly how they need it, on our website.

alt text: collage of photos: people smiling and cooking, hugging, waving Union Jacks or with their thumbs up and smiling to camera with the words 'care is life - support is important around it. Followed by a graphic of a computer monitor showing our website with a black screen mask activated on the Recite Me toolbar. The text 'get information that works for you' is around the graphic. The Persona logo is at the bottom.

Paul doesn't always want to join in the group activities at Ramsbottom so when he found this spare display board he had an idea...

He enjoys art, so each month he decides which quotes to share and how to display them on the board; he gets involved in the colouring too.

But it turns out this project isn't only for Paul, everyone gets to join in. When the display's ready, the quotes are read aloud so that everyone can talk about what the quotes mean to them.

These aren't 'just' some motivational quotes - this is inclusion and creativity in action.

This month's quotes are:

Believe you can and you will.
Keep up the good work.
You've got a friend in me 🙂
Smile and the world smiles with you.
You are strong and beautiful.
Be good to yourself.
Every day may not be a good day but there's something good in every day.
You are amazing.

Our Story

We support people to #livetheirbestlife. Persona was created in October 2015. The services which make up Persona were previously delivered in-house at Bury Council. We are proud to have a long track record as quality in-house service but welcome the opportunity to take forward a new organisation with the ability to do things differently. We provide a range of different support options designed to be flexible to meet the diverse needs of the community. We categorise these as Days, Stays and Lives.
