Big news for women’s health in England: the morning after pill is now free at high street pharmacies!

The NHS has expanded its contraception services to make emergency contraception pills available free of charge at thousands of pharmacies across England.

The initiative is part of a wider package of support for community pharmacies and expanding access to NHS services, helping people to get the care they need in convenient, familiar settings.

Supporting our veterans in Bury

Whilst attending the Bury Armed Forces Covenant Conference, our Engagement Officer Bev had the pleasure of connecting with Lieutenant Assistant Naval Regional Commander Antonio Valente (NW) from HMS Eaglet.

🤝 A meeting was arranged to discuss Healthwatch Bury’s veterans’ engagement initiative, which supports the Armed Forces Covenant by gathering insights from local veterans about their experiences with health and social care services.

🗣️Key issues discussed included: • Homelessness and housing support • Access to healthcare, especially mental health services • Employment opportunities and support • Fitness and wellbeing activities and affordability • Improving visibility and understanding of the veteran population across Bury.
