When danger is sensed, the sympathetic nervous system releases adrenaline and cortisol, preparing the horse to escape. The fascia, is a interbuilt highway, that covers the whole body, that communicates with the sympathetic nerve by acting as a large sensory organ rich in nerve endings that respond to stimuli like stress and touch. When the sympathetic "fight-or-flight" system is activated by stress, it signals the fascia to tighten, increasing tension and flexibility restrictions. This creates a bidirectional relationship where sympathetic signals can trigger fascial changes, and conversely, fascial receptors can communicate sensory information back to the brain, influencing the nervous system. With the use of massage and reiki treatments we can aid your horse to switch from fight or flight response to the rest and restore, healing state. Relaxing and soothing the fascia will send messages to the brain to release the negative energy that is stored within the fascia allowing the restrictions that your horse may be experiencing physically and mentally to be improved. For the endorphins to be released and their body's to heal.

So when people think massage is a pamper or unnecessary for their horses or that Reiki is woowoo they couldn't be more wrong.

If you would like to arrange a visit by me to treat ypur horse then please get in touch. Message me on 07841 400 769 new and old clients welcome .

Stress activates the fight or flight instinct. But in many cases, the horse never gets to fully run or fight so that energy then becomes stuck/stored in their bodies. Helping them release that energy, with a message and reiki, it enables them to process it and release it. Providing them a safe space and with the healing touch enables their nervous system to let it go, clearing that unwanted energy.
The signs of a horse having a soft eye and the gentlest of nods of their head or twitching in their bodies are signs of the body/nervous system completing the process. They look like they are snoozing, but they are not, there is a lot more going on than that, more than what the eyes can see, but something the horse is feeling. Regular treatment helps to remove layers of stress that have built up over the years.
If you would like to arrange a visit for your horse, for me to come out and treat your horse with my many techniques of massage, reiki, and fascia release, using my years of experience then please get in touch.

I am so lucky to have such wonderful owners who I work with, who trust me to treat their beautiful horses. Over the years I have got to know everyone well, I love a good natter when I'm on my yard visits, but it is so important that I also keep focus on the horse and their responses to the treatment. I don't want to miss the smallest of changes, the change in their breathing, the softness off the eye, the long blinks. I need to observe these changes as they tell me what the horse needs. So if I'm ever quiet, it's not that I don't want to talk, coz I do, but I want to do the best I can for your horse and I want to do the job Im there to do. At the end of the day, your horse is the most important during my visit. That all being said, I love hearing your stories about you and your horse and what you have been up to. Having a good working relationship with my owners is also so important to me.
I appreciate each and every one of you and your lovely 4-legged friends.

Another great day out on yard visits today, treating gorgeous horses big and small with massage and reiki. Just look at these whiskers on Millies chin twitching away as she processed her reiki. She loves having her regular reiki. She is such a gorgeous girl. My hands were filthy at the end of the day, but my heart was extremely full. ❤️

It was all too much to hold his head up during the massage. Poor Gadget, one of my regular massage clients, he was that relaxed and sleepy during his treatment the other week he had to rest his chin on a nearby post. He had completely melted into deep rest and restore mode. I l9ve seeing your horses in this state. it's so wholesome. Love my job.
If you want your horse to experience this state of relaxation please do get in touch.

I have contacted all those who I had to cancel and everyone is booked in, so if anyone is looking to have their horse treated with massage or reiki or as a combined treatment just let me know. I am a holistic equine bodyworker, which some may consider as a massage therapist but I am more than just the massage!! I treat the horse as a whole on many levels, mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually. Owning a horse can be so challenging in so many ways and like putting a giant puzzle together with pieces missing or in the wrong order, this is where I can help.

When I arrive to a yard visit I will not have much with me, my heat pad, my fascia tools and my steps but other than those few small things its just me and the most important tool of all my hands and my intuition. I asses your horse, I talk to you the owner and get as much information I can, to help me understand your horse and any problems you are experiencing. I connect with your horse, allow them time to accept me into their space. I observe and assess. Once I begin with my physical touch and I lay my hands on I dont just work and treat their muscles, I work and release fascia, I aid your horse to relaxe, aid them to find that stillness where inner healing can begin. Its not all about big moves, fast pace action massage and a spectacular show, many times its slow, and can even look like nothing is happening unless you look closely and give time you will see the horse show their own signs of release, see them embrace the rest and restore position. My sessions work deeply on many levels and are not usually one session fixes all but the first session will be the beginning to helping you and your horse start putting the pieces of the jigsaw puzzle together,- together. If you would like me to treat your horse then please get in touch. Message me on 07841 400 769 and state its for a yard visit as I treat people too in my treatment room.

This post is long overdue, but I have delayed with having my accident. Before my accident, I was introduced to Paul from The Nourished Hoof. He is extremely passionate about his job as a Farrier and his products he makes and sells. He is a guy in the know and was sick of seeing products being sold that just simply didn't work. I have been using some of his products, and I'm impressed with what I have seen!
I have the hoof oil, which has helped keep Zeus' hooves lovely and nourished during this dry spell. Here, you can see how nice and shiny the oil finishes the hoof.
I have also used the thrush treatment, which has been the best. Zeus has never suffered with thrush until this year, and I have been treating him regularly with other products, which helped but never fully got rid! The nourished hoof treatment has done the trick!! So good, highly recommend. Plus, the fly spray is good, too, if you are looking for a natural product.
Once I'm back at work (which I'm really hoping won't be too long) I will be stocking a few items for my clients to purchase directly from me making a saving, not having to pay for postage. But in the meantime, take a look at the page Nourished Hoof. I'm looking forward to working alongside The Nourished hoof team and promoting their brilliant products. Link to the page in comments.

When I'm broken and not able to work properly, there is nothing better than sitting down in my most favourite place with my buddy. Totally chilled out, I just sat quietly, listening to the birds flying in and out of my stable. It is a time to stop, reflect, and relax. Let my stresses and worries leave for a while, just so I embrace this moment of perfection with Zeus. I can't fix what has happened any quicker than it naturally will heal, so I might as well embrace having this time. He is so tired after a day out on the field that he has come into his tea( that is all over his mush🤣), and he is happily snoozing while I sit with him. I love to see him so content, and to see him doing a big sea horse stretch, it was so lovely to get that on camera. He might be the reason I have an injured wrist, but I still love him to bits, and it wasn'tthis fault, really. I am so blessed to have such beautiful animals in my life, they teach us so many lessons and I'm always grateful 🙏 ❤️

How many of you like to just sit with your horses? Asking nothing of them just to be in their company?

I'm still off recovering from my accident last Thursday when I injured my wrist. Im doing my best to rest and allow the time it needs to heal. I'm so lucky to have so many amazing people around me who are helping me. Including my none horsey hubby, who has been getting stuck in with sorting Zeus out with me as well as everything at home. He is a keeper 🤣 Here he is leading Zeus out on a walk. Any appointments I have coming up, I will be in touch in the next day or so. I'm hopeful to return to work next week. However, I'm going to play it by ear in the next few days and will have to reduce my workload for the first week or so. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

🤣 when your horsey friend, who is a physio ( for humans), straps your injured wrist up with vet wrap!!
My wrist is still extremely sore, and my hopes of getting back to work later this week are looking unlikely, unfortunately. I will contact everyone I have booked in later this week regarding appointments. Thank you to everyone who have sent their well wishes, and I'm looking forward to getting back to seeing you all and your gorgeous horses asap. Thanks for your understanding.
