My Journey with Sound Healing: The Beautiful & The Uncomfortable 💫
I was introduced to my first gong bath back in 2019 🛁 At the time, I wasn’t in the best mental space, and a lot of healing was needed. Afterwards, I had a headache for days as the energy began to shift and rebalance. Uncomfortable, yes, but something inside me knew it was the start of something meaningful 🌱
Despite the intensity, I felt the benefit immediately and have returned monthly ever since 💖
To the same trusted facilitators - I don’t feel the need to try another. I’ve found what works, and I’m happy.
But multi-instrument sound baths? That’s another story.
I once attended one at a mind, body, spirit event. It felt jarring - the crystal bowls were played far too loud, and the layering of metal and crystal didn’t sit right at all. I genuinely wanted to walk out. And yet, no one else seemed to be struggling. I felt alone in my discomfort and, if I’m honest, I’ve rarely trusted anyone to hold space for me with crystal bowls since 🤷♀️
Healing isn’t always serene. It can be messy and challenging 🌀And your experience depends on so many factors: your mindset, the space, the facilitator, the instruments, and the energy of those around you. Over the past six years, I’ve never had the same sound journey twice. Each one meets me differently.
So if you’ve had a tough experience with sound healing, I gently invite you to try again.
Perhaps with someone new, in a new space, at a time when you feel more held and ready.
Sound healing is incredibly powerful. It would be a shame to leave it behind after just one try 💕✨
