Hi All,

So after a long 8 months in which I saw my Mum go into hospital, almost lose her over Christmas, watch her recover slowly, almost got her home and then lose her during her last week in a nursing home, due to an infection - and then coping with losing your Mum during this pandemic, a very small funeral, and full time caring for my Dad who has dementia, I have decided to shut this page down.

It doesn't mean I have given up on my dream, it just means for now that I dont have the time to put into this, and it feels like a weight around my neck currently.

Thank you for liking and commenting, and I'll let you all know what I decide to do next ....

Much love MrsB! xx

Kerb Appeal Final Day !
Here are some quick fixes....
Make sure the buyers can find your house, so upgrade your numerals, and make it classic.
Solar powered lights are a great affordable way to highlight your front door, and plants.
Give any painted stonework an uplift, buyers prefer classic colours, you may love hot pink, but you may put people off!

Gravel is a great leveller, so refresh your top layer for an instant transformation, and can be as cheap as £3 a bag.

Add a welcoming touch, by having a seasonal wreath on the door, or have a year friendly one, have a look at Pintrest, and then try Etsy or eBay for options to suit your home.
Hope you've enjoyed this little mini series - stay tuned for more
xx

Kerb Appeal Day 4...
Lets talk bins - we know they need to at the front door so they can be collected and emptied quickly, however we have 4 bins, general rubbish, food / garden, paper, plastic - so we have moved the three specific ones, behind our fence, and just have the general bin out, as we get this one, collected more often.
You could make a cover with pallets and even put a sedum roof on top, or check out eBay, for lots of alternatives. I also use my local Facebook marketplace for bespoke offers.
Using screens again will hep the aesthetic, you can try Wayfair, or Primrose.co.uk.
Make sure your garden tools are out of site in a little shed, which you can also take with you when you move.
If you can go high range then sleek contemporary design that can double as a perch then look at gardentrends.co.uk

Kerb Appeal Day 3..

So we have looked and the right colour for your door, and how to add style with plants, so today we are looking at what might seem boring, however they can really add value and that's your fences and boundaries...

Modular fencing is all the rage at the moment, and B & Q have a great range called NEVA. You cam mix and match colours, and materials, grey & taupe, and wood slats or solid.

Painting your garden gate white will also draw attention to the front of your house, if you have one.
You could use tall willowy grasses planted together can help privacy, and help a small front garden look larger.

If a fence seems too permanent and costly, consider screening, which could be taken with you when you move. there are many available - have a look at ScreenWithEnvy. Also Rush or willow screening is a quick way to disguise less than perfect fences. and you can get these on a roll !

Kerb Appeal Day 2 !
Yesterday we talked about the right colour for your Front Door - today we will add in the Power of Plants...

Plants leave a lasting impressions, on passers by, so it pays to be on trend, especially if you are looking to sell your home. I still love a pair of Bay trees, and box hedge, even though I know they are a little dates. I prefer to call this the 'Classic Look'. The box / bay look can add strong structure, and will also tell the buyer that your home also has clean lines inside - these are modernised by adding lights for the evening. You can invest or buy great solar options.
For a softer look add a climbing plant around your door - wisteria, rose, jasmine are all great options.
If your front door is shady then a hydrangea is ideal, and come in a great range of colours, however stick to a theme, with no more than three colours in it.
Classics such as green and white, or green , white and purple always look brilliant as well.
Import some spring & summer sunshine by filling pots with low maintenance stunners.
Also fragrance is vital - so add in cheap & cheerful lavender, which looks fabulous in window boxes.

So why not try wisteria, or a climbing rose or Jasmine.

Boost Your Kerb Appeal !

First impressions have never been so important - whilst people are starting to look at moving homes, now more than ever buyers will be looking on line, google street mapping, and walking by your home - way before they they make an appointment to see your home. They now only have 15 minutes to be in your home - so you have to make the most of your homes appeal. Your front door space is a great indicator of what they will find beyond the front door.

So today we will look at Front Door Colours...

Townhouses and Mews houses always look great with a slash of colour, yellow, blue or red. For a sleek modern look, pick an inky blue grey.

Period or Victorian houses are very stylish in Navy.

Village houses are best in mid-tones such as grey-green, without creating too much of a stir, and will lead the buyer to believe this is a haven of calm.

In more secluded rural areas, then traditional colours can be used with confidence such deep green.

We also think of blue doors for seaside homes bringing that bright airy clean look.

Tomorrow we will look at the benefit of adding plants to your front door area.....

So in lockdown and whilst we are grieving our two bervements in this tough time we have been decorating ! When it came to putting the bookcase back I decided to make as much lightness, so I organised the books by colour and also created our own rainbow in the process !

Good Morning SOS world - I am sorry that I have been quiet recently- as I was finishing my new workbook for you all we got the call that Mum who was in a nursing home, was unresponsive and paramedics were with her, she passed away 2 days later without her family with her and her funeral is on Monday.

I will be back - Mum was very proud of me having a career and a side business - so I’m carrying on in her name .

Mums underlying health condition was diabetes and so I’m taking part in their challenge from July 1st which is to walk a million steps .... my page is on this link if you would like to help this cause.

These are the flowers I have chosen for Mums funeral - I think they are gorgeous and all my Mums favourites and colours - we hope to do her proud tomorrow with the very limited funeral service that has to be adhered to in these strange times.

Keep yourselves safe and well and I will see you all again soon xx

So I’ve reorganised my whole wardrobe - work clothes are now in a single wardrobe at the far end of the run of wardrobes ! I have brought some spring summer clothes down from the loft and have two new piles of clothes ready to go up to the loft - winter clothes and out out clothes as we won’t be wearing those for ages either !

So now the only clothes in my wardrobe are ones I will be wearing - that fit me - flatter me and are in season - no point in looking at fab dresses if I’ve nowhere to wear them ! I have got dresses in their just not my Uber gorgeous ones.

I’m creating a workbook about how to organise your clothes and personal items - I’ll hopefully have this ready for you all by the weekend !

Let me know if you want a copy ?
