World AMR Awareness Week
18th-24th November 💊

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites change over time and no longer respond to medicines, making infections harder to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness and death. As a result of drug resistance, antibiotics and other antimicrobial medicines become ineffective and infections become increasingly difficult or impossible to treat.

⚠️ Antibiotics don’t treat colds or flu.

These illnesses are usually caused by viruses and are mostly self-limiting, whereas antibiotics only work on bacteria.

✅ Let’s handle antibiotics with care and keep these life-saving medicines effective.

Today, on International Men’s Day, we’re shining a light on something that too often stays in the dark: men's health and su***de.

Every man deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported. If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. Reaching out is a sign of strength - not weakness.

To help us all recognise the signs and know how to support someone in crisis, the Zero Su***de Alliance offers a free, quick, and potentially life-saving online training course.

Take the training - visit the link in the comments. A few minutes could make all the difference.

🦠 Antimicrobial Resistance: It’s Everyone’s Business 💊✨

Antibiotics are lifesavers — but they’re losing their power.
Why? Because germs are getting smarter when medicines are overused or misused.

This Antimicrobial Awareness Week, we’re shining a spotlight on how small actions can make a big difference:
✅ Only use antibiotics when prescribed
✅ Complete the full course
✅ Never share or save leftover antibiotics
✅ Choose self-care and pharmacy advice for common coughs, colds and sore throats

Together, we can protect these precious medicines for future generations.
