A little behind-the-scenes update from our team 👇

Following our latest team meeting, we’ve introduced something new across the team – each of us will now act as a “champion” for a key area, from safeguarding to mental health and neurodiversity.

Nate will be taking on the role of Neurodiversity Champion, and with April being Autism Awareness Month, we felt like the perfect time to kick things off.

We’ve refreshed our downstairs board to reflect this, and I’ll be updating it throughout the month to help raise awareness, share insights, and celebrate neurodiversity 💙

If you’re visiting us in April 2026, make sure to check out the display – I’d love to hear what you think!

Fire safety training… but make it fun 🔥😄

A hands-on session covering how to use fire extinguishers and what each one is for, with Louise and Al fully getting involved.

Louise committed to the role completely, uniform and all, and might have found a new calling 👀

All jokes aside, everyone now knows exactly what to do if anything ever kicks off, but who says learning can’t come with a few laughs along the way?

🚨 We're Hiring: Occupational Therapy Assistant (Neuro Rehabilitation) 🚨

📍 Location: Northwest England
🕒 Contract: Full Time – 37.5 hours per week
💰 Salary: Dependent on experience

We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our specialist neuro rehabilitation team, supporting individuals living with life-changing neurological injuries and conditions across the Northwest.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you’ll work alongside a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech & Language Therapists, and Case Managers to help clients maximise independence and improve quality of life.

⚠️ Please note: this is not a standard 9–5 role. Flexibility is essential, as some evening and weekend work will be required to support therapy delivery in real-life environments.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing mums and mother figures in our community 💐

Today is a little reminder of just how much you do — the care, patience, strength and love you show every single day doesn’t go unnoticed. Whether you’re supporting your family, loved ones or others around you, you make a real difference.

We hope today brings you some appreciation, a bit of rest, and maybe even a chance to put your feet up for a while. You deserve it ❤️

Happy Mother’s Day from everyone at Rehab for Independence.

A fantastic day here in Bolton celebrating the Great St Patrick’s Day Out ☘️

This is always one of our favourite events of the year — bringing the community together while raising vital funds for domestic abuse charities that support those who need it most. The atmosphere, the people, and the purpose behind it all make it truly special.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such an incredible event, and to everyone who came along to show their support.

And of course, some brilliant words from the one and only Paddy McGuinness reminding us why events like this matter so much — community, kindness, and looking out for one another.

Proud to be part of a day that celebrates both St Patrick’s Day spirit and supporting such an important cause. ☘️💚

Today our team completed Food Hygiene & Infection Control training 🧼🍽️

As part of the session we used UV inspection to highlight areas missed during hand hygiene, helping staff clearly see how important proper handwashing technique is. The team also practised working in full PPE, including aprons, to reinforce safe and effective infection control procedures.

A big thank you to our delegates who took part today: Daniel, Denise, Jack, Kerry and Joe 👏

Training like this helps us continue delivering safe, high-quality care every day.

This International Women’s Month, we’re celebrating the incredible women who make Rehab for Independence what it is — not just this month, but every month of the year.

From our dedicated admin team who keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes, to the compassionate professionals providing hands-on support to people with life-changing injuries, the women in our organisation make a difference every single day.

Their expertise, resilience, empathy and leadership shape the quality of care we provide and the outcomes we achieve. They are advocates, problem-solvers, coordinators, clinicians, and changemakers — and we are proud to work alongside them.

Today we recognise and thank the amazing women across our team for their commitment, skill and heart. 💜

Here’s to celebrating women — this month and always. 🌟

Last night we took part in JMW’s charity quiz night in support of the Spinal Injury Association – hosted by the brilliant Jonny Spangles 🎤

Using an iPad eQuiz system (no cheating allowed!), teams were scored on speed and accuracy – and lost points for wrong answers. We started 25th out of 28… and finished 16th 💪

Highlights included:
✔️ Building a “BT Tower” out of foil (it started life as the Tower of Pisa…)
✔️ A fish & chip supper halfway through
✔️ Ian winning a meal for two at 20 Stories in the raffle 🎉

A great night for a fantastic cause – huge thanks to JMW for organising!
