Hewlett Court Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as Sheltered Accommodation and belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC].

Hewlett Court supports people towards independent living in a safe and caring environment in which catering is provided. Hewlett Court was opened in 1979 as a Masonic Retirement Home for the elderly. The home belongs to the East Lancashire Masonic Charity [ELMC] which has cared for Freemasons’ and their dependants for over a century. The home prides itself on its friendly family atmosphere and everyone is welcome. Hewlett Court is registered with the Local Authority as ‘Sheltered Housing’. It is not a Nursing or Convalescent Home and therefore the home is not permitted to provide nursing care to residents and short stay guests. Becoming a resident at Hewlett Court can be a difficult and momentous decision for both the potential resident and their family. The Management Team fully understands that decision and treats everyone as an individual to ensure that the right decision is made. Before permanent entry is approved applicants must reside in the Home for a trial period of two weeks and then return to their normal accommodation. This is to ensure that they really do want permanent residence, and for their suitability for communal life in the Home. The Home is close to the local amenities; shops, post office and Doctors Surgery. It affords accommodation for a maximum number of 41 people full-time, plus one additional person or couples as a guest[s] on a pre-booked "holiday" basis. Services Available:

The ladies, gents and staff were treated to a sweet surprise this Friday afternoon when Mario’s ice cream van rolled into the Hewlett Court grounds, playing cheerful tunes and bringing with it scoops of joy and nostalgia. 🍦

Everyone eagerly made their way outside to choose their favorite frozen treats. From classic 99 Flakes and strawberry cones to refreshing ice lollies, there was something for everyone to enjoy!

🦀 Aqua Explorer 🦀

The ladies, gents and staff were treated to a hands-on, up-close experience with some of the ocean’s fascinating creatures this morning with Lee from Aqua Explorer, Aqualease.

The interactive rock pool allowed us all to gently explore the textures of sea urchins, starfish, anemones and muscles! We even got a rare glimpse of a spider crab — known for their long legs and curious movements and were able to hold a Hermit crab and a shore crab.

Lee guided the group through the exhibit, sharing interesting facts and encouraging questions and interaction. We all had a great time! 🦀⭐️
