….every menopause journey is different, but the one symptom most of my clients have in common is disrupted or poor-quality sleep. This can happen for all sorts of reasons, from night sweats, anxiety or stress to an overactive mind or needing to p*e more often 🥺

So I’m resharing my self-reflexology sleep reel for World Menopause Day (tomorrow). This simple technique can help to relax the nervous system, which in turn can have a positive impact on sleep and mood. It can be very effective if done regularly, - especially at bedtime ✨

Focus on any crunchy, tense or tender spots, make sure you work on both thumbs and take slow deep breaths to calm your system 🌸

I can support you through this phase of life - if you’d like to find out more how reflexology can help you, message me or you can find my website and booking links in my bio 🔗

...these wonderful emoji portraits of the bigger emotions (sadness, anger, anxiety) were drawn by Years 3-6 during my visit last week for World Mental Health Day 🤩

We did a powerful and thought provoking activity around these emotions and how they impact our bodies. Then we talked about the importance of having our own go-to self-soothing strategies✨

I was so proud of their insight, creativity and willingness to share…..so excited to work with them again soon 💫

Drop me a message if you’re in or around the Bushey area and would like me to visit your school 📨

...I had a really productive meeting with the headteacher of a local school at the end of last week, and I’m really excited to be visiting again next Monday morning (ahead of World Mental Health Day next Friday 💛) to help launch my new pupil-led mental health programme for the school 🌟

I’ll be kicking things off by talking to all pupils across the school during assembly, followed by time in each year group, where I’ll be leading discussions and doing some fun, simple activities with the children around mental health 🧠🌟

With 1 in 5 children facing mental health issues () and an average 281-day wait for first NHS contact (), I’m bringing pupil-led mental health programmes directly into schools to make a difference now ✨

This is one of the projects I’ve been working on while my hand has been healing and I’m beyond happy to see it coming to life — more details to come next week! 🌺

If you’re in or around the Bushey area and would like me to visit your school, drop me a message 📨

...the lovely client whose leg is in the pic came to me for her first ever reflexology treatment just before my little accident (see previous post) 🌸

She was hoping to ease lymphoedema symptoms in her legs caused by ongoing chemo treatment. I focused on Reflexology Lymph Drainage (RLD) to support her body’s lymph system and bring some relief from her symptoms ✨

The pic shows increased definition around her foot and ankle indicating a shift in the fluid build-up 🤩

She messaged after the treatment to say her partner had noticed the same and she felt more in control of her health by coming for a treatment 💪🏼 she was motivated to do her exercises, and followed my post-treatment advice on keeping herself well hydrated 💧I’ve only treated her once but already feel so proud of her progress! 🌟

She’s booked in for her second session, and I can’t wait to continue supporting her journey once I’m fully healed and back in the treatment room 💫

…I had an accident last week involving my hand, a knife and a coconut 🥹 It left me with a really horrible wound but I’m incredibly relieved to somehow get away with no serious or lasting damage 🙏🏼 ✨

I’m gutted not to be able to work for a few weeks but this has been a biiig reminder to slow down and be more present (and to get the entire shell off the coconut before I cut it 🥴)

Very grateful to the NHS for giving me such amazing care, and to my amazing clients for being so patient and understanding while I take time out to heal. All the kind, thoughtful get well messages truly mean the world to me 🥰

Look forward to seeing you in the treatment room again soon 💫

...I was feeling very out of sorts yesterday after a tricky weekend - a grey cloud was forming around me and my thoughts started to spiral 😵‍💫

I realised I needed to take a step back so I took my cup of tea g the garden and breathed in the fresh air. One thing led to another and I started pulling weeds and dead leaves out of my plant pots 🪴

I realised that dotted among the brown and wilting leaves, bare stalks and empty snail shells, there’s still a lot of life and beauty in my plants. I noticed the depth and vibrancy of colour in the leaves and flowers defiantly blooming despite the arrival of November. I watched a bee buzzing around the little white flowers of a plant spilling over the edge of its trough. I even spotted a tiny green bud of a strawberry 🍓

I often find comfort being outside and yesterday I found so much meaning and context in my little plant pots. I just needed a nudge to remind myself the beauty’s there, even - and sometimes especially - in imperfection.

“In nature, nothing is perfect and everything is perfect. Trees can be contorted, bent in weird ways, and they’re still beautiful.” -ALICE WALKER
