🎶 What a fantastic afternoon at Kestrel Grove today!

Residents were treated to a truly wonderful performance by the incredibly talented tenor Yuri Sabatini. From the moment he began to sing, his powerful, rich voice filled the room and created a warm, uplifting atmosphere that had everyone smiling and tapping along. 🎤✨

Yuri brought charm, energy, and a touch of elegance to the afternoon, performing a beautiful selection that really captivated the audience. Dressed smartly and performing with such passion and confidence, he had residents fully engaged—many singing along and clearly enjoying every moment. 🎼👏

Yuri is an award-winning performer who has appeared at prestigious venues across Europe, delighting audiences with his incredible vocal range and stage presence. He captivated everyone at Castle View with a beautiful programme of classical operatic arias and contemporary crossover pieces from musicals.

It was a delightful musical experience that brightened the day for everyone at Kestrel Grove. Thank you, Yuri, for such an entertaining and memorable performance. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! 🌟

🎉 Happy at Kestrel Grove! 🎉

Yesterday we took time to celebrate the amazing people who make our home such a special place every single day. 💙 is about recognising the dedication, kindness, and hard work of our teams who go above and beyond to support the people we care for. It’s a chance to pause and say a big thank you to those who bring compassion, positivity, and professionalism to their roles every day. 🙌

Our team enjoyed pizza 🍕 and lots of sweet treats 🍬🍰, and each employee was given a small token of appreciation as a thank you for everything they do.

We’re so proud of our incredible team at Kestrel Grove. Thank you for everything you do for our residents and for each other. 💙

🌈✨ Holi Celebrations at Kestrel Grove ✨🌈

Staff, visitors and residents all came together today to celebrate the vibrant festival of Holi at Kestrel Grove — and what a truly fabulous day it was! 💛💚💙❤️

Holi, known as the Festival of Colours, celebrates the arrival of spring, love, joy and the triumph of good over evil. It’s a time to embrace positivity, togetherness and new beginnings — and that spirit was felt throughout our home today. 🌸🌼

Our celebrations were filled with creativity and fun. Residents enjoyed Holi-themed arts and crafts, exploring bright colours and beautiful designs inspired by this special festival. 🎨🖌️

We were delighted to host a live, interactive dance session with the fantastic Senjuti 💃✨ Residents, staff and visitors joined in traditional dances using colourful scarfs, sticks and bells, creating an atmosphere full of energy, laughter and rhythm. The sound of Bollywood music played throughout the home all day, keeping spirits high and toes tapping! 🎶🕺

In the beautiful sunshine, staff enjoyed playing Holi with vibrant coloured powders, sharing smiles and laughter as clouds of colour filled the air. ☀️🌈

It was wonderful to see everyone embracing the diversity of our community. Some staff dressed in traditional attire, while others wore bright, bold colours to mark the occasion — a true reflection of unity and celebration. ❤️

An absolutely fabulous day enjoyed by all, creating special memories together!

🎨🧁 Edible Arts Fun at Kestrel Grove! 🧁🎨

Our wonderful residents at Kestrel Grove have been getting creative in the sweetest way possible — by decorating delicious cupcakes! 🍰✨

Armed with piping bags, swirls of buttercream icing, and a rainbow of vibrant food colours, everyone turned into a star baker for the day. From bold and bright masterpieces to “extra generous” icing creations (because there’s no such thing as too much buttercream, right? 😄), each cupcake was as unique as its creator.

There were plenty of laughs, a little friendly competition, and maybe just a tiny bit of icing taste-testing along the way… purely for quality control, of course! 😉

It was a fun, hands-on, and wonderfully engaging activity that brought out creativity, sparked conversations, and satisfied our sweet tooth all at once. The best part? Enjoying our beautiful (and very tasty!) creations together. 💕

Well done to all our talented decorators — we think we may have some future Bake Off stars in the making! 🌟🧁

What an unforgettable afternoon at Kestrel Grove! 🌟🎶

Our wonderful residents were treated to an absolutely amazing performance by the incredibly talented singer and pianist Malcolm McCarthy. 🎤🎹 His beautiful voice and masterful piano playing filled the room with joy, nostalgia, and plenty of smiles.

It’s moments like these that make our community so special — music bringing everyone together, toes tapping, hands clapping, and hearts feeling full. ❤️✨

A huge thank you to Malcolm for sharing his gift with us. We can’t wait to welcome him back again soon!

Staff Spotlight – Benny 🌟

Benny has been working as a Maintenance Assistant at Kestrel Grove for the past five months and is really enjoying his role. At just 21 years old, he lives in Potters Bar and loves the fact that no two days at work are ever the same.

Benny comes from a big family, he has four sisters and is the middle child, which might explain his easy-going nature and great sense of humour! One of his favourite things about working at Kestrel Grove is listening to the stories shared by residents, which he finds both interesting and inspiring.

His favourite colour is blue and his go-to meal is a chicken wrap. Benny is a big animal lover, especially dogs. Outside of work, he enjoys fishing, golf, and paddle sports. He loves socialising with others and definitely isn’t a fan of traffic.

Fun Fact: Benny can’t resist a good cup of English tea!

Today residents at Kestrel Grove gathered for a meaningful Ash Wednesday service led by Andrew, Vicar of St Peter’s Church.

It was a reflective and prayerful time as everyone came together to mark the beginning of Lent.

Residents were truly grateful for the opportunity to pause, pray, and receive ashes — a powerful reminder that this season is one of reflection, repentance, and renewal.

Ash Wednesday marks the first day of Lent in the Christian calendar. During the service, ashes (traditionally made from palm crosses from the previous year) are placed on the forehead in the shape of a cross. The ashes symbolise humility, repentance, and our shared human journey, while also pointing toward hope and spiritual growth in the weeks leading up to Easter.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the service so special. 💜✝️

We had the most wonderful visit at Kestrel Grove today from the lovely Kelly at Performing Pets 🐾💛

She brought along three absolutely beautiful rabbits – all brothers, just 4 months old, and full of personality… but unbelievably they still don’t have names! 🤭 We’ve suggested everything from Flopsy to Sir Hops-a-Lot, but we think they might need some help deciding! 🐰🐰🐰 Any ideas?

The joy they brought to our residents was truly heart-warming. Animals have such a special way of connecting with people, especially those living with dementia. The smiles, the gentle strokes, the laughter, and the lovely memories they sparked were just priceless ✨💗 It’s amazing how something so small and fluffy can make such a big difference to wellbeing.

Our wellbeing team also made sure no one missed out. We carried out 1:1 bedroom visits for our bed-bound residents, giving them the chance to enjoy some quiet cuddles and special moments too. Seeing faces light up during these personal visits was simply beautiful 🥹🌷

A huge thank you to Kelly and her adorable (still nameless!) trio for brightening our day at Kestrel Grove. We can’t wait to welcome you back!

Our Valentine’s Day celebrations at Kestrel Grove were truly lovely and filled with joy, laughter, and togetherness! 💕

Valentine’s Day is celebrated every year on February 14th. It’s a special occasion dedicated to love, friendship, and appreciation. 💌 Whether it’s romantic love, the love between friends, or the care shared within our community, it’s a beautiful reminder to show kindness and gratitude to those around us. 🌹

At Kestrel Grove, we embraced the spirit of the day with:

🎨 Themed arts and crafts – Residents enjoyed getting creative with heart-inspired designs and handmade decorations.

🎶 Live performances from the amazing Emre – His romantic numbers created the perfect atmosphere and had everyone smiling and singing along.

🌸 Gorgeous decorations – Beautifully arranged by our talented wellbeing team, bringing warmth and charm to every corner.

📸 Fun photo moments – Staff and residents captured special memories using Valentine’s props and plenty of smiles!

No Valentine’s Day celebration is complete without a little indulgence… and we certainly enjoyed ours at Kestrel Grove! ❤️✨
