We made a start on decorating Christmas cards today...Two of our lovely staff were thrilled to receive special cards made especially for them.

What to do when you've shopped and planned to make Christmas cards, and a large group of residents appear in the lounge and ask to play bingo?....

Eyes down...... residents choice ....

2 games later, an exercise session doing and singing to the hokey kokey. Hand/eye coordination catching and throwing a ball whilst giving answers to the following subjects, A to Z girls names, boys names, kings, and cricket...lots of laughter...

A memory game of a round of drinks if a resident was taking us all out for a drink in the pub.(he said we could all have water!) Then a quiz to exercise our minds. None of us knew that Mr clarence Birdseye was actually a real person who invented the freezing process of food..

And a special impromptu performance from our lovely M playing some Christmas carols on the keyboard....it's been a year since she played them and we loved it. We still remember the words.

One resident did make a couple of Christmas cards as samples to encourage others to get involved tomorrow.

Plan A is to make some more cards....and there's always a plan B ready and waiting....

Sometimes the most joyful activities are unplanned....

Having shown our residents the before and after results of colouring this photo, it led to a wonderful afternoon creating colour versions of their own special pictures.

The results were so lovely and the discussions and memory sharing was even better.

We haven't shared the residents' own photos on this post as they are too precious but they were really pleased to see the results.

We are eagerly awaiting the printed photos to be delivered this week.

This photograph captures a memory for a member of our staff. It was a small photo in a silver frame on her grandmother's sideboard and taken at the end of WW1...the little girl was her grandmother.

We received a beautiful basket of individually wrapped posies for all our ladies for Mother's Day.
