After many years of dedication, compassion, and unwavering care, we say a very fond farewell to our wonderful nurse, Sandy as she retires.

She has been a constant source of kindness, professionalism, and reassurance to our residents and colleagues alike, and her presence will be deeply missed by us all.

As she hangs up her uniform to put her feet up and fully embrace her well-known love of cheese, we wish her a retirement filled with relaxation, happiness, and everything she so richly deserves.

Thank you for everything, you leave behind a legacy of care that will not be forgotten.

We don’t all knit and we don’t all crochet or sew, but we definitely all natter!

Recently we have been enjoying a revival of our knit and natter group and it has been lovely to see our residents getting together over shared interests.

Our latest session was hosted by Freya, our fabulous student here completing her work experience. Freya is a whiz at crocheting and very kindly crocheted heart shaped broaches for everyone.

If you would like to join us, please do. Come and share your skills, or at the very least, join us for a natter!

What a wonderful Valentine's we have had, joined by families who have helped us fill our time capsules with memories, letters, photographs and meaningful treasures ready for planting under our rose garden in the spring! 🌹

We have enjoyed the most beautiful love songs from harpist Sophia Penn Critton, who came to sing for us, as well as an amazing cake, heart-shaped treats and cocktails from the kitchen team and a week filled with hearts and crafts! 💗

Earlier this week, our fantastic minibus crew took three trips to our local bookstore and coffee shop!

So popular with our residents, the demand for a visit to High Peak Bookstore is always high!

A short drive through the rolling hills of the Peak District leads us to their delicious coffee and tea, tasty treats and fantastic service, followed by a stroll through their Aladdin’s cave of a shop to peruse a wide range of books, crafts, cards and gifts. Same time next month!

Last week, our residents enjoyed a trip on the minibus to Sheffield Cathedral.

Sheffield Cathedral is the oldest building in Sheffield still in daily use. Formerly the Parish Church of Sheffield, it was granted Cathedral status in 1914 – however the history of Christianity on this site goes back over 1000 years.
