Stop scrolling for a second and reinvigorate yourself with 13 seconds of nature. Just gorgeous! Birds singing and sun shining.

As a side note..I'm trying to hold my breath here because I'd just run up to Grin Low and it was hot, hot, hot! So lovely to be in my happy place. It's been too long!

Happy world bee day! Here's the sign for bee! It's nice to chat about all the little minibeasts we have in our gardens and in parks. I can guarantee your children will point them out!

What do you notice about this setup?
A lack of visual clutter, perhaps? That's on purpose. Here's why:
💙I'm aiming for a human connection with your children with voices and eye contact. (I spend most of the session on the floor at their level).
💙A lack of clutter ensures a clear and predictable connection with my classes.
💙Fewer things on the floor or within reach ensures a safer space for exploring.
💙There are a few meaningful props each week to engage and excite the children and encourage taking turns and sharing. No overwhelm over here!

Grown ups have often told me how they've never seen their children so engaged. What a compliment that is!

Let's talk instruments!

Every class has a section where the children can choose and play some instruments. It's not just about having a good old shake, there's development and learning going on, too!

Leaning and selecting instruments = development of muscles, core strength and honing those fine and gross motor skills.

Playing instruments loud/quiet/slow/fast = learning to recognise different rhythms and tempos and play along accordingly. Honing those learning skills and ability to copy.

So easy to do at home! You don't need expensive instruments to do this. Rice/pasta in a tupperware pot does the trick! Or like me, marbles in an old vitamin tube. Your baby won't judge you. They're just happy to be playing music with you!

I've had a lot of interest in Rhyme Time at the library (YAY!), so here's a bit more information:

*It's free! ❤️❤️❤️
*No commitment. Every session is a drop-in.
*We kick off Monday 8th June at 10am at Buxton Library.
*There's no expectation to sing along. Just relax and enjoy time with your little one.
*Each session is aimed at the under 5s.
*We'll have a mix of songs and stories with a sprinkle of instruments.
*Each session will be about 30 minutes. Come earlier, stay later, up to you! There's plenty of books to peruse!

Please do feel free to get in touch if I've left anything out. See you soon!

Sing and Sign is for the many, not for the few. There isn't a single child that signing couldn't benefit. Every week, every class, just confirms to me that I have chosen the right path.

Today's magical thing was a first for me. I'll never forget it and hope to build on progress next week!

Teaching in a nursery can and DOES WORK! 🥰 Thank you Cheeky Monkeys for having me every week.

Have a wonderful weekend!

I already teach in 2 nurseries and have capacity for at least 1 more. Get in touch for more details! ❤️

This is me in my happy place. ❤️

Sooooo many new followers this week, so I thought it was time to say,'Hello!'

I am Gemma. I'm originally a Londoner but moved to Buxton with my family almost 5 years ago. I love it here!

The number 1 thing to know: I am a Sing and Sign mum. I'd never heard of it until I had my daughter 5 years ago. It absolutely changed my outlook on parenting, and I loved it that much, I decided to leave my corporate life behind and teach it! I truly believe that signing with my daughter helped our communication and kept early frustrations to a minimum. I hope my passion for Sing and Sign comes across in my classes.

Spending time with gorgeous families every week is a privilege, and I still pinch myself that I can be a small part of your child's life.

Any questions? Please don't hesitate to get in touch. ❤️

I have been absolutely bowled over with the response to the start of rhyme time at the library! I cannot wait to get going. BUT Sing and Sign isn't going anywhere! All classes will remain exactly the same. Mondays are a free day for me, this was an opportunity too good to miss! 🥰
