When I was a kid, the narrative seemed to be… boy meets girl, they get married, cue some fluffy wording about the mans special seed 🙄🙄they have a baby and that’s it
WELL, thank goodness we have moved on a bit since then. The journey to parenthood is way more complex than that for so many, whether it’s your sexual orientation, your fertility or your relationship status
The LGBQT+ community is a huge part of this incredible village of parents.
In my classes all I see is parents… whether you are Mummy and Daddy, just Mummy, Mummy and Mama, just Daddy, Daddy and Daddy… the list goes on and of course often extends to Grandparents and wider family too
It is so important to me in classes that you feel safe, there is no judgement, you can talk openly, you can be unapologetically yourself and you are supported and celebrated!
There is still work to be done, I myself am ALWAYS learning, I know it’s not always easy in a world that isn’t always kind. But I will always be here championing all parents and it felt especially important to me to acknowledge and celebrate pride.
As a Mama, my kids are being taught that you can love whoever you want to! And to treat people with kindness (thanks Mr Styles ❤️) I feel inspired regularly by the fierce love and pride I have witnessed in the last 4.5 years
In the end… LOVE WINS
🏳️🌈 Happy Pride month everyone 🌈
