First Family History Tour of 2024 completed yesterday.
We had Lynne Roberts over from New York, visiting the Bethesda area, where her ancestors lived before emigrating to the US.
First up was a stop at the National Slate Museum at Llanberis so that she could have a taste of what the working life of a slate quarryman was like, followed by a brief visit to one of the family homes at Llanrug.
Then it was over to Bethesda and Mynydd Llandegai, where Lynne was able to see some more family homes, along with visits to Christ Church, Glanogwen, and St. Anne's, Mynydd Llandegai, to pay her respects at the graves of a few of her ancestors.
Perhaps the highlight of the day was enabling Lynne meet up with two distant cousins who she had never met before. This turned into a wonderful family history discussion, with new friendships made, along with promises to keep in touch.
All in all, a brilliant day, aided in no small measure by John Pritchard of Celticos Guided Tours North Wales, Outdoor Tourism, Country Lifestyle.
If you are interested in a tour of your own, then please do get in touch.
