A perfect reminder from my napkin at lunch this week.
At this time of year, we're all so busy DOING. Planning, organising, rushing around to make sure everything is perfect and nothing and no-one is forgotten. Parties and socials, decorating, cleaning, gift shopping, food shopping, visiting family and friends, preparing for guests to stay. All for a day (or couple of days) that often goes by in the blink of an eye.
So in this time of mayhem, the week before the big day, if you're the one who is rushing around making the magic happen, I see you. Please remember that you matter and you are worthy of the time, effort and love you so freely give to others.
Nourish yourself in whatever small moments you can, in the run up to the big day but also beyond that. Yes, we know the beneficial impact of sleep, rest, eating healthy food but you know what, eat the mince pie (or the festive treats of your fancy) and reclaim bits of time when you can - going to bed 20 minutes earlier to read a few pages of a book, closing the door of a room to 'wrap presents' when you've got your favourite hot drink to hand and can savour a few moments of silence and stillness.
And if you're in need of some deep rest and nourishment after the big day....I may just know someone who can help 😜
