🎃🧙‍♀️👻 What a spook-tacular day at Cherry Tree today! Our staff showed off their frightfully fun costumes (some gave us a real boo! 😜), and our residents rocked their witches’ hats like Halloween pros! 🪄✨

We had pumpkins 🎃, spooky fruit decorating 🍎🍊, and a mysterious “What’s in the box?” game that had everyone laughing and squealing! 😱😂

So much Halloween fun, laughter, and a few friendly scares 😱

And to all the brave little trick-or-treaters out there — if you dare 👀 — come visit us! We’ve got plenty of sweets waiting for you 🍬🍫🍭 (if you’re not too scared!) 😈

🌸 Afternoon Tea with Our Families 🌸

Today, our families enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea and delicious cakes prepared by our wonderful Chef Yvonne! ☕🍰

It’s always a joy to see families spending quality time together with our residents, sharing laughter and sweet treats. 💕

Just a reminder — on the last Thursday of every month, we host our Afternoon Tea & Cakes for families to join their loved ones. We look forward to seeing you at the next one! 🫖

🍁 Lovely Day at Cherry Tree! 🍩🎃

What a day it’s been here at Cherry Tree!
Our morning kicked off with the team enjoying some well-earned donuts — because let’s face it, no great day starts without sugar! 🍩

Lois had a fantastic time hosting the Gentlemen’s Quiz — full of laughs, clever answers, and maybe a little bit of friendly competition! 🧠🎩

In the afternoon, our lovely ladies showed off their creative side, decorating pumpkins with funny stickers. We quickly discovered that carving pumpkins is basically a full workout — who needs the gym when you’ve got pumpkins? 💪🎃

Meanwhile, our wonderful resident Cynthia invited five of her friends over for a cozy game of bridge. There was plenty of chatting, laughter, and of course, a good cup of tea to keep the fun flowing ☕🃏

To wrap up the day, we had a cheerful evening meeting with the night team — complete with pastries to give everyone a sweet energy boost for the night ahead. 🥐🌙

Another delightful day full of smiles, laughter, and great company at Cherry Tree! ❤️🌸

🐾 A Pawsitively Wonderful Visit! 🐾

Our residents had a very special visitor today — Luna, my adorable Golden Retriever! 🐶💛
It was Luna’s first time visiting the home, and she was an instant hit with everyone. She loved spending time in the office and getting endless strokes and cuddles from residents and staff. She enjoyed herself so much that she didn’t want to leave… I actually had to carry her to the car! 😂

After Luna’s visit, our residents had a fun-filled day — with Lois hosting a lively quiz, Scott leading group exercises and 1:1 sessions, and a creative afternoon of arts and crafts with Lois, our residents, and family members. 🎨💬

A big thank you to everyone who made the day so joyful — and to Luna for spreading so much happiness! 🐾💖

💙 Magor Forget-Me-Nots 💙

We’ve been kindly invited by our friends at Bethany Church to join the Magor Forget-Me-Nots group — a lovely get-together for anyone affected by, or caring for someone with, dementia. 🌸

It’s a friendly, supportive place to chat, share experiences, enjoy tea and coffee, and find encouragement together. ☕💬

🕐 1pm – 3pm
📅 Every other Wednesday, starting from 10th September

If you have a loved one living with dementia, or you’re a carer looking for a warm community space, why not come along? It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect, support one another, and make new friends. 💖

Today, Lois spent a lovely afternoon with our residents preparing for Remembrance Day. Together, we created meaningful decorations to display throughout the home and shared thoughtful conversations about the importance of this day. 🇬🇧❤️

It was a time for reflection, gratitude, and honoring those who served and sacrificed for our freedom. We are so proud of the care, respect, and community spirit shown by everyone involved.

🎄 CHRISTMAS GIVING at Cherry Tree Care Home! 🎶

A huge thank you to our lovely friends from Bethany Church who visited us last Thursday. The singing, chatting and joyful music (especially the piano!) brought so much warmth and happiness to our residents. ❤️🎹
It truly felt like amazing spirit in action — thank you for sharing your time, kindness and voices with us.

Now, as part of our Christmas Giving Appeal, we are continuing to welcome support from staff, families, visitors and our community to help brighten the season for families who may need an extra hand this Christmas.

Every contribution, big or small, goes directly to support families this Christmas.

2. Fresh Food Donations
We are collecting fresh items such as fruit, vegetables, baked goods, etc., to help spread nourishment and joy.

If you would like to donate in cash - money box is available in reception from Monday 27 October till 22 December 💜

Please bring fresh food donations to the home on Saturday 20 December Sunday 21 December and Monday morning 22 December 💚
Pastor Jon Linforth will collect all donations on 22 December and ensure everything is delivered to families before Christmas Day❤️

🎉 Happy 1-Year Anniversary, Dreams Care Homes! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us today to celebrate this special milestone — 1 year since Cherry Tree is owned by Dreams Care Homes! 🌷

Today was extra special as we also celebrated Diwali as part of our International Day, with this month dedicated to Nepal! 🇳🇵🪔 Everyone enjoyed delicious Nepalese cakes, pizza, and drinks, making it a joyful day filled with light, laughter, and community spirit. ✨
Thank you Reggie for helping with the food.

A very special thank you to the Mayor of Caldicot, Cllr Maxine Mitchell, and the Deputy Mayor, Cllr Frank Rowberry, for joining us and celebrating this wonderful occasion — your presence truly made the day even more memorable. 🙏

We also want to say a big heartfelt thank you to our CEO, who travelled all the way from London to be with us today and then drove back the same day. Your dedication and support do not go unnoticed — it means so much to all of us.

As we reflect on this milestone, please be reassured that our focus remains the same — to continue providing the highest possible standard of care for our residents.

Every month, our residents celebrate International Day, where we explore and enjoy the beauty of a different country. This October, we’re celebrating Nepal and the vibrant festival of Diwali — also known as the Festival of Lights, which symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil.

A huge thank you to owner of Cherry tree Care Homes-Basanta and our amazing Operations Executive Anju for bringing delicious Nepalese cakes and sharing a piece of your culture with us. 💛

And of course, a big thank you to Briget and Lois for the stunning decorations — your creativity never stops amazing us! 🌸✨

🎶✨ What a wonderful few days at Cherry Tree Care Home! ✨🎶

Over the past two days, our residents have enjoyed some truly special moments:

🎤 Yesterday, Marcus delighted everyone with his beautiful singing — our residents couldn’t help but join in!
🎵 Today, we were treated to a visit from a talented Jon who played the harp and spent time chatting with our residents.

🌸 Meanwhile, Lois continued spreading joy as she led our residents in creating lovely decorations to celebrate Diwali.

It’s been a heartwarming couple of days filled with music, laughter, and togetherness 💕
