What a day!

Rob singing, Lindy Lou from Grinch came visiting and then the Panto with the staff.

The props and costumes all made or put together by staff and residents.

Thankyou to everyone who took part, we really have a wonderful team at Crick and I appreciate your help and the joy you bring to activities most days.

Many thanks to my hubby, who was up at 3am for work but came in to sing because he wanted to spread abit of Xmas joy knowing we had to cancel a few events earlier in the month.

On Wednesday, we had a very special birthday.

Kath was 102. The day before Kath had her hairdresser in and Kacy did her nails. Her daughter brought her in a lovely new outfit and her tiara.

The day before we also had a singer in and Rob Knight dedicated a couple of songs for her birthday.

On the day the activity team gave Kath a further pamper with a facial and a natural make over with light pink eyeshadow to match her tiara and nails. I think she looked incredible ( more down to genetics than the makeover though) Then we celebrated with a lovely cake. (Video to follow).

Kath was over the moon with her many cards, pressies, well wishes from all staff, butterfly and flower balloons. She also wanted to thank everyone for making her day so special.

Kath is a much treasured and vibrant member of the home and joins in everything from tai chi, gentle zumba, crafting, baking, pampering, quizzes and singalongs. Happy Birthday Kath you are an inspiration.

A day of doors,( front door and advent doors) and panto script writing!

As our panto was cancelled due to unforseen circumstances . We have written our own panto and the staff will now play the parts

Never, when I woke up this morning, did Ithink I'd be wring a script but after a chat with the Team Leader, we worked together to make a panto. We all felt a traditional panto was part of an important tradition.

We will be making some props with the residents.

Hello,

Tomorrow is 1st December and I meant to post this abit earlier..

I am appealing for Raffle prizes for Christmas. I will be providing a few prizes ( a Christmas chocolate Bouquet and a few Signed Xmas books) but I am looking either for jars and chutneys, nice coffee, chocolates and luxury food items to do a professional looking hamper.

Or things like bath items or Christmas sets or anything else like vouchers.

We will already be having a tombola starting on 8th December. Where some prizes have been donated very generously by one family

The monies from both will be go towards more singers coming to the home. We do get a budget plus I get a few friends to come in and give their time generously and also utilise local choirs and U3A etc. But doing more of something they really enjoy is the aim here. So please if you can, bring in raffle prizes and pass to the activity team.

All the other fundraising we have done this year has gone to help charities outside of the home.

Also we will be supporting Save the Children with a Christmas Jumper Day ( for residents and families). Christmas T shirts or shirt sleeve tops (due to infection control for patient facing staff) please donate £1.00 if you can. This will be every day from 11th December 19th December. The residents will love all the colour this will bring to the home.

Again the residents will be involved with these charitable events. Helping to box up the hamper and counting the monies up etc.

Raffle will be drawn Christmas Eve at 3pm.

Wishing everyone a Blessed and Peaceful season The Activities Team.
