Liz Court Pilates & Massage Liz works in her established clinic at Polborder near St Mellion, 10 minutes from the Tamar Bridge. Check out the website for more information.

Liz is a qualified Pilates Teacher in Body Control Pilates and Equi Pilates offering Pilates classes and Equi Pilates workshops locally and also 1:1 in her studio. She also specialises in Sports and Lifestyle injuries – offering a programme of massage treatment together with a rehabilitation programme of exercises to help realign muscle fibres and correct postural problems. This will promote and enable flexibility allowing clients to work, play and compete at maximum capacity. Overuse or repetitive strain injuries are increasing in the fast paced environment in which we live – and the resulting pain and discomfort benefits greatly from deep tissue massage.

💙💙I know how much incontinence can make your life embarrassing and miserable.

I’ve worked with women who have told me how it has made them feel - ashamed, overwhelmed and isolated

If you’re constantly worrying about leaks you might ⬇️⬇️

✅Avoid social gatherings because you’re afraid of an accident in public.
✅Skip doing exercise in case certain movements trigger a leak.
✅Maybe you carry extra clothes and pads around.
✅Perhaps you plan your day around where the toilets are, limiting your freedom to move around.

These challenges can chip away at your self-esteem and make you feel like you’ve lost control of your own life.

😊We know exercise is important for making the body more flexible, healthier and all-round…better.

What about the mind?👏

The way you move can also affect the way you think and feel. Think about it. When you feel tired and sad - you move more slowly. When you’re anxious you might rush around or the opposite - freeze.

🙆‍♀️So, there’s no getting away from it - regular exercise is good for you physically and mentally.

It's not just about breaking a sweat or feeling exhausted.

My Pilates classes offer a gentle yet effective way to improve your physical and mental health. Yes, I do push you to work hard, but always with your safety and comfort in mind.

With the weather changing and getting cooler, for many of us this means we may feel stiffer and our joints ache that little bit more.

Skippings ‘off’ then 😃

You’ve heard it from me before and you’ll hear it again.

This means you need to move and stretch a little more gently to start with, before you attempt the bigger stuff.

I’ve learned more about my pelvic floor in the last 4 weeks than I have in the last 40 years!

😧😧It’s not just the actual pain that get’s you down, is it?

Chronic pain can cause mental health issues like depression and anxiety, as well as problems with memory, sleep, and mood. It also leads to physical problems like reduced mobility, muscle weakness, fatigue, and a weaker immune system, which together lower the quality of life.

And no prizes for guessing what’s great for chronic pain 🤣🤣

Here are 5 types of chronic pain Pilates can help you with ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️ and when you come to my classes or work with me 1:2:1 I assess you for your capability.

✅ Back Pain: Pilates uses gentle exercises that stretch and strengthen your back, neck, and hips. This helps improve your posture and ease tension in your back muscles, reducing pain.

✅ Neck Pain: Pilates exercises stretch and lengthen neck muscles, helping to improve your posture and ease tension. Gentle head and eye movements during these exercises can also help reduce strain.

✅ Knee Pain: Pilates strengthens the muscles around your knees, providing better support and reducing pain. It also improves flexibility, taking pressure off your knees and easing discomfort.
