UPDATE: Thank you to those who have already responded. We'd especially like to hear from dads and non-birthing parents who may like to participate and those who have experienced an assisted birth.

At RUH Maternity, we are keen to ensure we provide families with the information needed to support and enable informed decision making during their birth experience. We are looking at making improvements to the information our midwives and doctors share during pregnancy, specifically about different types of birth and emergency situations that can arise during birth. We would like to hear the voices of families who have had a baby with us recently and so are inviting service users to take part in a focus group to discuss this topic. We specifically would like to know what information was found to be helpful and what additional information families would have benefited from in pregnancy to support decision making. If you would like to take part please complete this form and a member of our team will be in touch.

On Thursday 22 August, we're looking for supporters to wear their brightest rainbow colourful clothing and get outside for a rainbow ramble...walk, jog, run, scoot, skip, buggy push, swim or cycle any distance round the local park, along the cycle tracks, through the woods, in a local pool to celebrate a special rainbow baby in your life and raise awareness of Kicks Count 🌈

Entry is free, but you can donate online at www.kickscount.org.uk/donate/rainbow-baby-project-2024/5/SinglePayment or text RAINBOW to 70145 to donate £5 to the charity to help fund our new Rainbow Baby bundles, which we send free of charge to those experiencing a rainbow pregnancy.

Anyone who raises over £20 in sponsorship will receive a free sparkly rainbow pin badge as a token of our appreciation ❤️

Can't make Thursday 22nd August? Do not worry, rearrange your Rainbow Ramble for any day in August!

Plan regular car seat breaks if you’re going on a long journey. Any product that keeps babies in a seated or inclined/sloped position can impact breathing so it’s important to stop regularly and give your little one time out of their car seat.

Tummy time is important to help babies develop the strength and ability to roll and, eventually, crawl! However, tummy time must be supervised and it’s important to stop if your little one gets tired so they don’t fall asleep in that position.
