Your Choice - Campaigns & Social Action Your Choice is a Community Initiative that promotes the empowerment of people in their local communities. Anyone was included as long as there was respect.

We seek to encourage and support people and groups, to establish an effective presence in their local communities. HISTORY:
Your choice was set up 25 years ago, to support people to organise themselves into supportive groups within their local communities. They then sometimes extended their influence within those communities; to inform & support. The 'core' groups were those that had experienced m

ental health and other psychological & emotional problems, often resulting from prejudice and abuse that they had experienced as children and as adults. The community initiatives soon expanded and we found people joining as volunteers who had experienced all sorts of problems and getting their own support in return. COSTS:
These groups were very low cost and persisted very informally after the initial start. They can be as small as a handful of people with similar difficulties providing mutual help, through to groups of 20 odd User Volunteers. All they required was the support of one or two people, often part time, to provide encouragement and advice, provide access to letter writing, printing, internet and scrounging premises to meet in and beg for a few £. Beyond that, it is very much up to the interests of the people involved. These are effectively 'Therapeutic Networks', allowing people to gain confidence in supporting each other & advocating for those in need.

For those of you who have experienced Childhood or Adult Abuse (like me and so many others) 'Embrace Everest,' or face the Mountain of Greatest Challenge.

The biggest challenge is to face up and speak out against all abuse. Do not allow abusers to silence you. Silence is only golden for those who abuse.

This film is about those who have been abused in childhood who went on the adventure of facing the challenge of reaching Everest base Camp.

They had already faced the challenge of speaking out against their abusers and these lucky people were believed in the end. Now they speak out for the rest of you.
