My next Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) course starts on Wednesday 26th November from 18.30-20.30 via Zoom and runs for 4 weeks. This course is an introduction to mindfulness and compassion practices as we learn how they can build mental resilience against stress, anxiety and overwhelm. Read on for more information…

❤️ Compassionate: How do you talk to yourself? With kindness and understanding or with impatience, anger and distain?

🧘🏽‍♀️Mindful: How present are you in your life? Are you aware and accepting of each beautiful, developing moment, or are you forever lost in thought and living in autopilot as life passes you by?

💪Resilience: Do you cope well and maintain a healthy balance of work and rest in this frantic world, or do you feel overwhelmed and stressed, habitually turning away from the chaos and trying to block out the pain with unhealthy cravings?

If you feel continually exhausted from pushing through, from being everything to everyone, and leaving nothing left to nurture you own wellbeing, the 4-week Compassinate Mindful Resilience programme is for you.

Created by Karen Atkinson, CEO MindfulnessUK, it was developed to support individuals, groups, teams, employees and organisations and is recognised by the European and British Associations of Mindfulness-Based Approaches.

We will explore mindfulness, compassion, emotional intelligence and resilience through learning short and effective practical tools and techniques to take forward on this wonderful adventure we call life! Learn to hold yourself through the chaos, and rebuild that lost connection with your true self.

Seasonal Wellbeing: Autumn at Found Outdoors CIC takes place on Saturday 20th September from 10.00-13.00! 🌳

This event will include guided meditation, mindful walking through beautiful woodland and meadows and engaging and insightful creative activities with myself and Ruth Hill.

Our theme for this session will be self-compassion. Give yourself the gift of time in the woods this September!

There is no set fee for this event, we invite participants to contribute what you feel is right and suits your budget. 😊❤️

There will be one more Serenity Circle gathering in July before I take a break from teaching for August.

There are many reasons for wanting to practice meditation.

Many come for individual reasons (stress, anxiety, burnout, grief – the list goes on) and whilst these things are important, we must remember that mindfulness is not about changing the external circumstances that cause us to suffer but changing our relationship to them so we reduce our suffering.

Many people can be put off mindfulness when they do a practice and when the bell rings they don’t feel a sense of immediate relaxation. To sustain our practice we must remind ourselves that mindfulness is not a relaxation technique. It is an approach to life that allows us to be present for all that life brings, all that it can throw at us.

Mindfulness is so much more than relaxation (although it is a nice side-effect!). Mindfulness is about developing resilience - but also common humanity and compassion - to help us manage and navigate life's challenges. And the biproduct of all this is a greater appreciation of the good in our life, the richness and depth of that which makes us feel happy and connected….and even more relaxed!

Good morning, I hope you are all keeping well. I'm just dropping in with a little update for you on Be & Breathe services going forward...

💫 Serenity Circle
Due to ill health, I had to postpone the last Serenity Circle gathering at The Mind Tree Cafe in Rowde, so there are still two dates available:

Thursday 10th July from 19.00-20.30: we will be practicing some gentle, nature inspired meditations outside in the gardens.

Thursday 31st July from 19.00-20.30: this will be the last Serenity Circle session and will focus on self-compassion.

£12 per session: pop me a message for more info and to book your place. ❤️

Due to other work and family commitments and time needed to nurture my own developing practice and wellbeing, these two sessions in Rowde will be my last offerings until the autumn. There will be no monthly meditation sessions via Zoom or mindful walks until September. I wish you all a happy and healthy summer and look forward to connecting again later in the year! 🙏🏼

💫 Well, what a whirlwind of activity June has been! My first 4-week Compassionate Mindful Resilience (CMR) course finished last Wednesday and the last session of my current 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course is tomorrow - and they have both been an absolute joy and pleasure to host and guide. ❤️

😊 I have also enjoyed holding space for a wide variety of wellbeing retreats and meditation sessions that continue to support and inspire my own daily practice, so thank you to everyone who has joined in any of my offerings so far. 🙏🏼

Looking ahead, Be & Breathe will be slowing down for the summer as I focus on other work commitments, but there will still be the odd offering to sign up for before courses kick in again in September. Here's what will be happening over the summer months:

📚 From September 2025 I will be offering the MBSR starting on Tuesday 23rd September from 18.30-20.30. This will run at the same time every week for 9 weeks and will include a silent 3-hour retreat as one of the sessions. Bookings are open here: https://mindfulnessuk.com/course/mbsr/
