We this , when the nation unites to honour the service of the entire Armed Forces community.๐Ÿ’š

It's a good time to give a shout out to the new Cera Military Network, an employee resource group that is open to veterans, active reservists, military spouses, family members and allies to those connected to military service.

It supports veterans in the transition to civilian careers and fosters leadership development.

The Network is also a safe space for discussions about military experiences, career challenges, and shared values, while advocating for equitable access to opportunities and recognising the unique strengths military backgrounds bring.

Cera also shows it's commitment to the armed forces family by signing up to the Armed Forces Covenant.

If you have experience in the armed forces, did you realise the transferable skills you could bring to the care industry?

๐Ÿ‘ฅFrom communication and decision-making to adaptability and resilience, your skills could make you an excellent carer, care coordinator or manager.

For many men, speaking openly about mental health can feel unfamiliar โ€“ even uncomfortable. Whether through social conditioning or personal experience, men often carry the expectation that they ought to just soldier on. But we all know that silence doesnโ€™t always serve us. ๐Ÿ’œ

Thatโ€™s why at Cera we're pleased to be starting a new Menโ€™s Mental Health Employee Resource Group, Cera Men Connect โ™‚๏ธ a space where colleagues can come together to talk, listen and learn in a way that feels safe, supportive and respectful.

The group is open to Cera colleagues who identify as a man and to allies who want to be part of the conversation.

It's all about creating a healthier culture around mental wellbeing for men.

Monday is World Hand Hygiene Day! A reminder that hand hygiene "the right way" is crucial for protecting both service users and healthcare workers.๐Ÿ‘

Remember๐Ÿ‘‰
- Disposable gloves don't offer 100% protection and can get contaminated just like bare hands.
- Remove gloves immediately after completing a task, and always practice hand hygiene after glove removal.
- Assess each task to determine if gloves are necessary.

๐Ÿ–๏ธExamples of when to use gloves: exposure to bodily fluids; contact precautions; outbreak situations; emptying a urine drainage bag.

โœ‹Examples of when gloves are generally NOT required (except for contact precautions): giving oral medication; assisting with dressing or mobility; taking blood pressure; handing out meals.
