"When I first contacted you, as you saw in the very first sessions, I had reached (again) in quite a distressed state and struggling to function, still less to enjoy the good things in life, food, family, hobbies and passions. The counselling sessions helped ease the vicious cycle of thinking and emotional response I had to a particular trigger and anxiety that had become all-consuming. The road back wasn't easy, there were bumps and inclines along the way, but I must say the process of opening up and your manner, insights and techniques definitely played a massive part in my recovery. You also helped me realise something that hadn't been properly recognised or addressed before, my OCD mind. I would say the key thing, when faced with daily life and anxiety triggers, is for me to learn how to deal with such issues effectively, but to realise when I have gone past the point of reasonable analysis and when my OCD mind has started to kick in, before it goes too far.
