World Immunization Week, celebrated in the last week of April, aims to highlight the collective action needed and to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease.

Through its convening power, WHO works with countries across the globe to raise awareness of the value of vaccines and immunization and ensures that governments obtain the necessary guidance and technical support to implement high quality immunization programmes.

The ultimate goal of World Immunization Week is for more people – and their communities – to be protected from vaccine-preventable diseases.

The aims of Allergy Awareness Week should survive beyond just the week because allergies affect people 365 days a year. We need our Allergy Awareness Week efforts to be part of a movement to build a more compassionate, informed, and inclusive society in relation to allergy.

By coming together, raising our voices, and taking action, we can create a world where everyone feels safe, supported, and understood, regardless of their allergies. Join us in spreading awareness, promoting empathy, and making a difference during Allergy Awareness Weeks and beyond.

Together, we can build a brighter future where the has arrived.

James Parkinson’s ‘Essay on the Shaking Palsy’, published in 1817, recognised Parkinson’s as a medical condition for the first time. We mark his birthday every 11 April with World Parkinson’s Day, a day to shine a spotlight on Parkinson’s and our community.

Together, we can create a greater understanding of the challenges people with Parkinson’s and their loved ones face. And it’s a brilliant opportunity to raise funds for research and support services.
