1st Review :
We were so relieved to be able to bring our relative into the home. She is warm, safe, relaxed & well cared for. The facilities are amazing but for us its the caring gentle staff who are most important. They maintain her dignity, talk to her at eye level and have time to attend to her needs. Well done Camberley Heights - keep going."

2nd Review - Respite Stay:
Thank you for all the care you gave me. I felt really poorly when I arrived . You made me feel at home ; joining in the activities the second week &, started to feel stronger. The food was so nice & the staff in the restaurant were lovely , couldn't do enough

Today it was "Gentleman's Club" so we thought we'd take a trip down to good old Weatherspoons for a pint and food!

At Camberley Heights we are very blessed to have 21 gents here at our home......so when the ladies have their pampering sessions...the gents also get to have their time....and what better than going down the pub!

Getting out and about is always a great way to get to know our residents and you find out things you would have never known before if you had not spent that quality time with them.

Of course these 3 gents were blessed with 4 lovely ladies accompanying them today, they said they were very happy...phew ! 🍺🍻🍔🍟

This afternoon we had the amazing Francisco Yglesia come to play his harp for our residents.

Well he was absolutely amazing....he must have very strong fingers!

A few words that we took from his bio on his website which was really interesting and we felt would be nice to share with you all:

" Francisco Yglesia was born just outside the small town of Caraguatay in Paraguay.
At only four years old, Francisco learnt to play the guitar, before moving on to the harp at seven. His school days were spent very happily at a Roman Catholic Monastery, and it was whilst he was still at school that his musical career began: he turned professional at the age of just eight.


In 1965, when Francisco was fifteen, he entered the National Folk Music Festival in Paraguay, playing the Paraguayan Harp his father had given him. The same year, he represented Paraguay at the 2nd Festival Latino Americano del Folklore in Salta, Argentina. Francisco won a gold medal (first prize) for Paraguay and was given a special trophy for being the youngest contestant in the event. The following year Francisco was chosen to represent his country again, where he won another gold medal for his solo performance. Winning these two festivals meant national acclaim for the young boy… he was now famous!"

Isn't this amazing ....just at the age of 8 years old he became a professional and by the age of 16 he was famous....and now we are privileged to have him play here for us at our home.

We are very blessed to have many amazing, talented performers and Francisco is certainly one of them!

At Camberley Heights our residents do love a bit of a sing song and really enjoy people coming in to sing to them.

Over the past few weeks, we've had a number of performers from Frank Sinatra, Sing Along With Sandra and we've even had Elvis in the building...oh yes!

Also this past month as our residents have started up a singing group....which is hugely popular....and we all know how therapeutic singing can be for the soul.....this is an activity brings us great joy to see and of course hear....makes our hearts melt to see them so happy !

So who likes Downton Abbey?

Due to the fact we have a fabulous Cinema here at our home our residents have been watching this series for a number of weeks, and they finished off last Friday watching the Xmas edition.

As a number of our residents love Downton Abbey last Thursday, we took them to High Clear Castle where this series was filmed. They absolutely loved it. What with the glorious castle itself, the pretty lights, the singing....they had a real treat.....what a way to finish off for our Downton Abbey fans!

Thank you Patrick from Camberley Branch - Royal British Legion for coming in today to provide our residents with a presentation about the Royal British Legion of Camberley.

We have also launched our poppy appeal which is displayed next to the Camberley Bell here at Camberley Heights, we have poppies including knitted poppies here to collect for a donation to the RBL.

Halloween is coming! 👻🎃

Our residents enjoyed making some beautiful crafts pumpkin crafts today.

"Participating in arts or crafting provides a creative outlet for elderly people and can help them express their thoughts and feelings, along with creating something tangible that has meaning for them. It’s not about making a piece or item that is perfect or them being highly skilled, it’s about trying new things and learning along the way. There is no right or wrong way to be creative; it’s all about taking part and giving it a go".
