What is DUROLANE?

DUROLANE is a unique, single-injection, high molecular weight hyaluronic acid (HA) therapy that provides long-lasting pain relief from knee OA and acts as a supplemental lubricant and shock-absorber. The HA in DUROLANE is made with the same material as the natural HA within the human body.

What makes DUROLANE unique?

Compared to other HAs, DUROLANE is made with unique, patented NASHA® technology, giving it a gel-bead structure. This makes DUROLANE more resistant to degradation over time and provides long-lasting pain relief with a single injection.

How Does DUROLANE Work?

Hyaluronic acid is a molecule found naturally throughout the human body. It is an important component of joint fluid, called synovial fluid, which provides lubrication and cushioning in normal, healthy joints.

When you have osteoarthritis of the knee, the hyaluronic acid breaks down and becomes diluted, reducing its natural elastic properties, which can further degrade cartilage tissue and cause increased joint pain

Hyaluronic acid in osteoarthritic joints has lost its natural viscoelastic properties, which are needed to protect joint tissues. This loss of viscoelasticity means that the synovial fluid no longer retains the ability to absorb shock and protect surrounding cartilage tissue.

The hyaluronic acid in DUROLANE has the same composition as the natural hyaluronic acid your body produces, but it’s in a highly concentrated formulation that’s been uniquely stabilized to help resist the degradation caused by osteoarthritis. DUROLANE is administered as a single-injection directly into the knee.

Plantar Fasciitis

What is It?
Plantar fasciitis is a common condition involving irritation of the plantar fascia—the thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot, connecting the heel to the toes. It’s a leading cause of heel pain, particularly in the morning or after periods of rest.

Causes
Plantar fasciitis typically develops from repetitive stress or overload of the foot. Contributing factors include prolonged standing, walking or running, poor footwear, high or low arches, tight calf muscles, or a sudden increase in activity levels.

Symptoms

-Sharp or stabbing pain in the heel, especially with the first steps in the morning
-Discomfort after standing, walking, or running
-Tenderness at the base of the heel
-Stiffness or aching in the arch of the foot

How We Help
Our physiotherapists provide tailored treatment plans including hands-on therapy, stretching and strengthening exercises including shockwave for persistant pain

Our Podiatrist can offer advice on footwear or orthotics.

Our musculoskeletal consultants can offer ultrasound imaging for accurate diagnosis and guided injections if pain persists despite conservative care.

If heel pain is limiting your comfort or activity, we’re here to help you recover and return to pain-free movement.

Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis)

What is It?
Tennis elbow, or lateral epicondylitis, is a condition where the tendons on the outside of the elbow become irritated due to overuse. It affects the muscles responsible for extending the wrist and fingers, leading to pain and reduced grip strength.

Causes
Despite the name, tennis elbow isn’t limited to tennis players. It’s commonly caused by repetitive gripping, lifting, or wrist movements—often from work tasks, DIY, racquet sports, or computer use. It typically develops gradually through repeated strain on the tendon.

Symptoms
• Pain or tenderness on the outside of the elbow
• Discomfort with gripping, lifting, or twisting
• Weakened grip strength
• Pain that may radiate into the forearm

How We Help
Our physiotherapists provide hands-on treatment, tendon loading exercises, and advice on activity modification to promote healing. Shockwave is also suitable in the more persistant cases.

Our musculoskeletal consultants can assist with ultrasound imaging for diagnosis and, if needed, offer guided injections to reduce tendon inflammation and support recovery.

If elbow pain is limiting your activity, work, or sport, our team is here to help you get back to doing what you enjoy—stronger and pain-free.
