What Is Women’s Health Physiotherapy?
Our Women’s Health Physiotherapists are trained to support a wide range of conditions unique to the female body .Women’s Health Physiotherapy is a specialized area of physiotherapy focused on the treatment and management of conditions affecting the pelvic floor, bladder, bowels, pre- and postnatal care, menopause, and chronic pelvic pain.
We offer compassionate, evidence-based care in a private, supportive environment to help you move confidently and feel in control again.
Common Conditions We Treat
• Pelvic floor weakness or overactivity
• Bladder urgency, frequency, or incontinence
• Pelvic organ prolapse
• Painful in*******se (dyspareunia)
• Postnatal recovery (C-section or vaginal birth)
• Diastasis recti (abdominal separation)
• Menopause-related pelvic discomfort
• Anorectal Physiotherapy
• Return to exercise or sport postpartum
What to Expect at Your Appointment
1. Initial Consultation (60 mins)
- Discussion of symptoms and health history
- Postural, abdominal and/or pelvic floor assessment
- Internal examination offered if clinically relevant and fully consented
2. Tailored Treatment Plan
- Pelvic floor strengthening or downtraining
- Breathing and core control
- Bladder training and lifestyle advice
- Manual therapy or scar management if needed
3. Supportive Follow-Up
- Clear guidance on exercise and progress
- Ongoing reviews and adjustments as your body changes
