Long NHS waiting times for musculoskeletal (MSK) treatment have a significant financial impact. Patients can wait up to 24 weeks for treatment, leading to billions in lost productivity as employees remain unable to work.

The current system is under strain, but there is an immediate solution: chiropractors.

✔️ With an average 1.5-week waiting time, chiropractors could help clear NHS MSK backlogs.
✔️ Reducing waiting times from 11 weeks to 2 weeks could generate £699 million in productivity gains.
✔️ By 2028, 250,000 more people could be treated, with savings estimated at £873 million.

Despite being recognised as Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) globally, chiropractors are not yet part of the NHS MSK pathway. Thousands of chiropractors are available and ready to provide care, offering immediate capacity to help tackle the growing backlog.

Hockey for Heroes is thrilled to announce its 2025 fundraising tour, Operation Peace Finder, dedicated to raising essential funds for Help For Heroes. This initiative will take place over nine challenging days throughout May and June, aiming to honour the 2,029,201 veterans currently living in the UK.

Throughout this extraordinary tour, the Hockey for Heroes men’s and women’s squads will undertake an ambitious challenge. They will strive to complete a cumulative total of 2,029,201 metres of fitness racing—equating to one metre for each veteran. In addition, the teams will play 54 hockey matches, engaging with the hockey community throughout the country.

To reach the tour fundraising target of £70,000, every member of the squad will need to average approximately 43 gruelling kilometres throughout the tour, in addition to playing three full length hockey matches per day. This commitment reflects our deep engagement in the mission of Hockey for Heroes: to raise as much money as possible for Help for Heroes.

Help for Heroes stands as a beacon of hope for our veterans every day, delivering life-changing support that re-builds lives. The importance of their work cannot be overstated, and Hockey for Heroes is resolutely dedicated to amplifying this critical mission. This isn’t just their fight – it’s ours, too.

We draw inspiration from Help for Heroes’ campaign, The Veterans War - Fighting for the peace they deserve, which underscores the sacrifices made by our brave veterans.
