Lakeview Care Home is one of our newest care homes, based on Lightwater Road in Lightwater, Surrey providing both beautifully designed award-winning facilities and gardens as well as the highest standard of residential and dementia care. Our care is relationship-centred, recognising the uniqueness of each individual and their needs. Residents are encouraged to keep on doing the things they’ve always loved – the things they perhaps thought they could no longer enjoy. So as part of our community, they’ll be able to cook, help out in the garden and carry on with the kind of everyday routines which make their lives theirs. 💜 September is World Alzheimer’s Month, a time to raise awareness, challenge stigma, and show support for everyone affected by dementia.

We’re excited to share that we are launching a brand new Sensory Dementia Café at Lakeview, running every first Saturday of the month, 10am – 12pm, hosted by our Dementia Care Manager, Jo. This will be a welcoming space for people living with dementia and their loved ones to connect, share, and enjoy meaningful activities together. The first will be held on Saturday 4th October.

Together, small actions can make a big difference.

🐑🐇🐔 This week, Lakeview was buzzing with joy as Basil And Crew Mobile Farm came to visit!

Over 100 community members, local professionals, residents, and their loved ones joined us to enjoy the animals large and small🐾❤️

Animals are not only fun to be around, they also provide incredible therapeutic benefits, which is why they’re such an important part of our activities here at Lakeview.

🎉 Last week at Lakeview, we had the absolute honour of celebrating a truly incredible milestone. Lakeview's wonderful resident Ethel’s 116th birthday! 🥳💐

Ethel, our supercentenarian, was overjoyed to receive a very special surprise from Buckingham Palace, a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a card to mark the occasion.

Ethel was so grateful for the thoughtful gesture, and our residents and team were thrilled to share this unforgettable celebration with her ❤️

Here’s to Ethel – an inspiration to us all! 🌟

🇿🇦✨ At Lakeview Care Home, it was our honour to host a very special event celebrating the life of one of our cherished residents, who was originally from South Africa.

His family kindly shared a treasured traditional South African recipe, which our talented kitchen team prepared with love. Together, we enjoyed the flavours that reflected his roots, creating a beautiful tribute to his life and heritage.

It was truly our pleasure to care for him and we are grateful to have shared in such meaningful memories with his family ❤️

Happy birthday to Ethel Caterham, the oldest person in the world and a resident here at Lakeview.

Ethel has spent her special day surrounded by loved ones, and plenty of her favourite food including homemade chicken curry and lemon drizzle cake. 💚

Ethel and her family shared: “Ethel and her family are so grateful for all of the kind messages and interest shown to her as she celebrates her 116th birthday this year.

"Ethel has again chosen not to give any interviews, preferring to spend the day quietly with her family so that she can enjoy it at her own pace. The King may be her one concession, understandably! Thank you again for your kind wishes on this special day”.

🌸 We finally did it!!! 🌸

After an incredible amount of hard work from our amazing team, wonderful visitors, brilliant residents and dedicated volunteers, we are proud to announce that Lakeview Care Home is this year’s Winner of Hallmark in Bloom! 🏆✨

A huge thank you to everyone who helped with the preparations and made judging day so special.

Everyone had a fantastic time and we are truly honoured to be recognised in such a special way.
