📢 NHS Cervical Screening Results – Going Digital from September 2025 📢

From September, the NHS will start sending negative cervical screening results directly to your NHS App 📱.

✅ You’ll get a message and an app notification.
📬 If you don’t read the message within 72 hours, a letter will still be sent to you as a backup.
✉️ Abnormal results will still be sent by post for now.

This means quicker results for many people, while keeping a safety net so no one misses important information.

A new FREE app providing mental health support at your fingertips has just been launched in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

The WorkWell mental health app shares 6 digital cognitive behaviour therapy sessions offering advice and tips on improving mental wellbeing.

Users can track their progress, update how they're feeling and see how far they've come.

There's also the chance to connect with a WorkWell coach at the touch of a button, who can offer personalised 1-2-1 support on staying in or returning to work if you're having physical or mental health struggles.

The app can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play

When you find out you are pregnant, you can refer yourself for NHS pregnancy care so you start care with a midwife right away.

Once you sign up online, the maternity team will contact you to book your first appointment with a midwife.

You should do this by the 10th week of pregnancy, if possible, but it’s never too late to start. If you're over 10 weeks, refer yourself as soon as you can.

We have been informed of some Scams that are currently circulating, and wanted to share to our patients/community.

The fraudsters are attempting to pose as DWP with some rather sophisticated images mirroring gov.uk. We have included some photos of the examples that have been circulating.

We are not sure if this might be more widespread but wanted to share this information to help Local Authorities manage the risks of such scams and consider updating or clarifying their own genuine communication channels with their residents.

Messages have also gone out on DWP’s social media channels to warn customers about these scams, directing them to the Stop! Think Fraud website (link below).

Did you know your local pharmacy can help with a range of health advice and treatment for children and young people?

As part of the Pharmacy First scheme, more than 90 pharmacies across Cornwall can offer medical advice and help with several common conditions.
You don't need to see a GP and they can even provide some prescription medications.

• Earache for young people (age 1 to 17)
• Sinusitis (age 12 and over)
• Sore throat (age 5 and over)
• Infected insect bite (age 1 and over)
• Impetigo, a skin infection (age 1 and over)

Please kindly avoid parking in the staff car park 🙏 -and use the patient car park only.

We totally understand that parking isn’t always easy 🅿️, but if you can, please allow a bit of extra time to find a space ⏱️ -or park nearby and enjoy a short walk to the surgery 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️.

It’s really important that our clinicians/staff can get in and out quickly if they need to attend an urgent visit or if we are expecting an ambulance 🚑❤️
