New research has confirmed that the HPV vaccination prevents cervical cancer.

Two new Cochrane reviews show strong and consistent evidence that HPV vaccines are effective in preventing cervical cancer and pre-cancerous changes, especially when given to young people before they are exposed to the virus.

Girls vaccinated before the age of 16 were found to be 80% less likely to develop cervical cancer. The reviews also confirm that HPV vaccines are only likely to cause minor, transient side effects such as a sore arm. The reviews were supported by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

In the NHS app, you can see messages from your health care providers to make sure you get a notification when you have received a new message in your inbox.

Your notification settings need to be turned on in your phone.

To do this, go to your account and select Settings.

Then select Manage Notifications.

Select go to Device Settings.

Select Allow notifications.

Once you've enabled notifications on your device, you need to reopen the NHS app.

Doing this confirms that you have registered to receive notifications.

Today we opened our doors for our Sunday Diabetic Clinic 🩺💙 - and it was a busy one!

A massive thank you to the amazing volunteers from and for joining us to support our patients 🙌💚. Your advice on healthy lifestyles 🍎 and smoking cessation 🚭 made such a difference!

An even bigger shoutout to our incredible Veor team 👏💪 - you all went above and beyond (as always!), keeping those smiles shining throughout the day 😄💙.

🌟 Veor Achievement 🌟

Veor were honoured to be nominated for a Diabetes Recovery Award and attended the ceremony in Taunton on Thursday.

While we didn’t take first place, we are extremely proud to have been recognised as 2nd in Cornwall for our diabetes care. This is a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the dedication and teamwork shown by all our staff -from our administrative team and nursing staff to our GPs and partners.

We are very fortunate to have such a committed team continually striving to provide the highest standard of care for our patients.

Our next Super Diabetic Clinic will take place on Sunday 26th October, and we are pleased to share that it is already fully booked. We look forward to seeing everyone who is attending and continuing to support you in managing your health.

We are holding our first Covid 💉 and flu 🤧 vaccination clinic.

Covid-19 Vaccination Eligibility

This autumn, we can only offer the Covid vaccine to:
👵 Patients aged 75 and over
🛡️ Patients who are immunocompromised

⚠️ Please note: This eligibility is different from previous years, and we are unable to make exceptions.

🚗 Parking

Our car park is limited. If you are able, please park nearby 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ and enjoy a short walk to the surgery.

This is a change from last year’s eligibility criteria, and unfortunately we are unable to make any exceptions.

Winter is coming, and so are seasonal illnesses. The good news is you can protect yourself and your loved ones. Our GP practice is offering free winter vaccinations to those eligible – including flu jabs, COVID-19 boosters, and even the RSV vaccine for patients aged 75-79. By getting vaccinated, you greatly reduce your risk of getting seriously ill, and you’ll be less likely to pass viruses on to vulnerable people.
