Safi and I went to plant some flower bulbs in the garden when a strong garlic scent hit me. Turns out it was coming from a great big patch of garlic mustard that grew by our apple tree! This recipe was so easy to make and luckily I happened to have all the ingredients already at home. Yum!

Tuesday tribe have been developing the society of Emerald Kingdom over several sessions. Every Tuesday, without fail, they're back in Emerald Kingdom zone. As with any society, this one also came into some problems that needed solving. One of the members was about to be banished from the Kingdom for breaking a rule - revolting against the Queen. There was just one issue with this - the member had no idea this was a rule. After a discussion it became clear that Emerald Kingdom has not yet laid down its foundational laws nor had it developed its justice system so everyone could get a fair hearing. A council meeting was immediately called and the idea of sociocratic decision making was introduced. Everyone had the chance to suggest rules and only the rules approved by all members made it into the law book. I am continually amazed by the sophisticated language and problem solving skills these guys demonstrate weekly. The words written on those pages were penned down completely independently of any adult input.

Later on in the session, one of the members broke the rule of vandalism. The Queen marched up to the law book and made her case then proclaimed with pride "We have made good laws and now we can solve problems successfully."

I feel privileged to be called their Goddess - a term they chose for me as apparently I am the only one who has power over their Queen and also their territory. I am a respected member of this troupe and I didn't even have to ask for it!:)

With the nesting season in full swing, we sadly find a lot of dead rook chicks on the ground, reminding us of the connection between life and death. We always give the deceased chicks a thoughtful send off and sometimes it brings up other thoughts and memories. Today one of our members was reminded of a distant relative who passed away a while ago. At first, this memory awoke a sudden panic in her, making her request to go to her "calm spot" with a friend to digest the emotions. A little later on, we thought about how she could honour the memory of her relative and she decided to write a message on a leaf to then hang up on a tree right beside her quiet spot. A beautiful example of how nature can hold space for us even when experiencing big emotions.
