Sometimes you need to rest from strength training but you can still challenge the body and mind. Headstands is a favourite exercise of me mine. A yoga headstand, or Shirshasana, has various physical and mental benefits such as improved circulation and oxygenation of the brain, increased blood flow to the face, scalp, and hair, and strengthened neck, shoulder, and core muscles. . Mentally I fell theyimprove focus, balance, and concentration, reduce anxiety and stress, and promote a sense of calm and relaxation. They are somehow challenging to master in the beginning but it’s worthwhile the effort. I feel the balance gained translate to the handstands so it could be a good transition exercise.
