Today we celebrate International Pilates Day and the legacy of Joseph Pilates, whose work continues to move, strengthen and support bodies all over the world.

For Siane, Pilates has been so much more than movement.

It has shaped her life, her body, her mindset, her healing, and the entire journey of Hans_On Wellness. What began as a personal passion has become the foundation of a growing wellness community with Pilates at its core.

Pilates has a beautiful way of meeting people where they are.
It strengthens.
It restores.
It supports healing.
It builds confidence.
It brings people back home to their bodies.

And, perhaps just as importantly, it brings people together.

Over the years, Pilates has woven itself into Siane’s everyday life, not just as a practice, but as a way of being. A reminder to move with intention, to breathe deeply, to listen inward, and to keep growing.

We are so grateful for every body that walks through our doors, every smile, every small win, every moment of strength, and every connection made on the mat or reformer.

New to Reformer Pilates? This is your sign to start here ✨

Our Beginners Reformer Pilates Course is designed especially for people who are brand new, feeling unsure, or wanting a little more confidence before joining regular group classes.

And here’s the thing many people don’t realise…

Reformer Pilates isn’t “too hard” for beginners.
In fact, the reformer was originally designed by Joseph Pilates to support the body and help people build strength, control, and confidence before progressing further.

Unlike mat Pilates, where you’re working mainly with your own body weight, the reformer uses adjustable springs to offer both support and resistance. That means exercises can be adapted to meet you exactly where you are.

So no, you don’t need to be flexible.
You don’t need to be strong.
You don’t need to “know what you’re doing.”
You just need to start.

Across the course, our friendly expert instructors will guide you step by step, helping you understand the reformer bed, build confidence with the equipment, and move in a way that feels safe, supported, and empowering.

Our classes are kept intentionally small and intimate, so there’s plenty of space to ask questions, receive guidance, and learn at your own pace.

One of the most beautiful things about this space is how versatile it is. Our reformers can easily be moved, transforming the studio into a spacious sanctuary that can be used in so many different ways.

On Friday, we held a beautiful Women’s Circle in the space, and we’re so excited to share that this is just the beginning. We’ll also be hosting social events here, with some lovely collaborations coming up too 🤍

And the best news… our mat classes will now be held in-house, allowing us to continue growing and sharing the wellness sanctuary we’ve been carefully creating for our local community.

We’re also delighted to have a brand new Mat Class on the timetable:

This year, Hans_On Wellness is proud to be supporting our Charity of the Year, đź’›

One of the ways we’ll be raising funds for this incredible local charity is through dedicated content days and content creation sessions at the studio.

In this day and age, creating content is such an important way to show people what we’re all about; that our studio is inclusive, welcoming, and for every-body. It doesn’t matter how strong you are, how old you are, your level of ability, or how flexible you are. What matters is moving your body in a safe, supportive environment with expert tuition.

Because content creation is so important, we want to be intentional about when we capture photos and videos. During classes, our focus remains on what matters most: supporting our clients, ensuring movements are performed with correct alignment, and helping to prevent injury. Dedicated content sessions allow us to share the heart of what we do, without taking away from the care and attention our clients deserve in class.

Thrive Foundation is a local charity supporting families affected by childhood cancer, and the Hans_On Wellness collective knows only too well how devastating that journey can be. This charity has touched us all in some way, and its impact has created a far-reaching ripple effect within our community.

We’re honoured to support such a meaningful cause this year, and we can’t wait to raise awareness and funds together. Thank you for being part of it. ✨

At Hans_On Wellness, our Pilates classes are filled with people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and that’s exactly how it should be.

Community Stories | Rachel & Zachary 🤍

Another little glimpse into what our postnatal reformer sessions are all about.

Rachel joins us with baby Zachary, and her experience captures so much of what these classes are designed to offer - a welcoming, supportive space where new mums can take time for themselves, prioritise their physical and emotional wellbeing, and connect with others in the same season of life.

Our postnatal reformer sessions are longer in length, allowing plenty of flexibility for the realities of motherhood. There’s no pressure and no judgement, if you need to pause to feed, change, settle or soothe your baby, that is always completely welcome.

What makes these sessions so special is how naturally they hold both mum and baby together. Often little ones are so content simply being close by, and many of the movements can be adapted so you can be with your little one while you move.

And it’s not just about the class itself, each session also includes time afterwards for a hot drink, a chat, and a chance to connect. It’s a space where friendships are formed, support is shared, and mums can feel held too.

As a small independent business, authentic content helps us show what Hans_On Wellness is really all about. Rather than constantly taking photos and videos during regular classes, we love hosting dedicated content mornings like this so everything feels more relaxed, natural, and pressure-free for everyone involved.
