Glue ear is very common in young children and is when the middle ear becomes filled with sticky fluid. For ears to work properly, the middle ear needs to be kept full of air. National Deaf Children's Society has further information.

If your child has dyslexia, you may have heard that changes to the SEND system are being proposed and wondered what this could mean for their support at school.

Join us for a free webinar where our expert panel will explain the proposed reforms in plain English and talk through what they might mean for families. There will also be a live Q&A, so you can ask questions and hear the concerns of other parents and carers too.

This session is designed to help you feel more informed, reassured and confident about what may lie ahead.

Thursday 26 March, 6:30–7:30pm on Zoom.

When a child resists, avoids, or pushes back, it can be easy to see it as defiance.

But for some children, especially those with a PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) profile, this response is rooted in anxiety and a deep need to feel in control. What looks like “won’t” is often “can’t” in moments where demands feel overwhelming or unsafe. When we shift our understanding, we can begin to respond with support instead of conflict.

If this resonates, you’re not alone — and there are ways to reduce pressure, build trust, and support your child more effectively.
