Our friends at the , are hosting an online on Saturday the 15th of May at 8pm.

Stephen Lawrence and Alex Reid, who have performed in CCSO’s percussion section for the last thirteen years, will talk about the highlights, challenges and delights of playing in the section. They will discuss the origins of orchestral percussion, some unusual instruments, the perspective of a player in the section and the organisational complications, and they will reveal how they came to become involved in the first place, all illustrated with some insider anecdotes.

On the 6th of Feb our friends are hosting an online talk by pianist Aaron Kurz.

Aaron Kurz is a young American pianist now studying at Yale. He would have been the soloist at CCSO’s next concert at West Road, playing the 3rd Prokofiev concerto. Instead, he is giving an online talk on the challenges of tackling the virtuoso piano repertoire, which he will illustrate at the keyboard.

Head to https://ccso-online.org.uk/concerts/2021-feb-concert-2/ for details on how to tune in.
