♀️ BREAST CANCER ! ♀️ Can you help me ?

Tomorrow I will walk the Moon Walk, which is a charity walk to raise funds and awareness about breast cancer.
I feel really passionate about supporting women (and men !) diagnosed with breast cancer. As an osteopath, I help patients during their recovery. We work on the shoulder mobility, the scars, the grief.

Because of the pandemic, patients are not always able to have they their families near them whilst undergoing treatment. Their need for support has never been greater !

We also need to raise awareness around prevention: because of the lack of routine check-ups during Covid, some cancer might have been unnoticed, and will need urgent care.

If you could spare the price of a pint or two to support a good cause, that would be amazing and I'd be very grateful ! ☺️

Happy international women's rights day !

Today I wanted to remember the first women to be osteopaths.
Andrew T. Still, who founded the first school of osteopathy in 1892, was a liberal. He believed everyone had the RIGHT to learn medicine, and he accepted women and black people in his school. 5 women were part of the first class, including one of his daughters.
Women were also enrolled as faculty members, teaching men and women about women's health.
Women soon represented 50% of the students and by 1900, there were 700 female osteopaths in the US !
